TOPIC: ISSUE228 - "The best way to teach-whether as an educator, employer, or parent-is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones."

Teach:1.to cause to know sth:act as a teacher
2.to show how(~ a child to swim)
3.to make to know the disagreeable consequences of an action
4.to guide the study of
5.to impart the knowledge of
positive:providing help:constructive:showing confidence and optimism
negative:lacking in definite constructive or helpful qualities or characteristics
不同意作者观点。
1.Teach 是一个主动传授的过程而非简单的在对方行为后才做出反馈。学校里,老师要先讲授,然后让学生做作业,之后才批改。而老爸教儿子钓鱼也不可能是把小孩和鱼竿扔到河边,如果回来还多了几条鱼就表扬,毫无收获就明天继续去晒太阳。
2.当然,对积极行为的称赞是绝对有意义的,在成功的企业中都实行有各种激励机制,使员工朝着老板期望的方向使力。对消极行为的适当忽略也不无好处。批评总是伤感情打消积极性的,产生的消极结果本身就会有teach的作用。但肯定不能无限制忽略。


The speaker maintains that by praise positive behaviors and ignore negative ones a teacher--whether an educator, employer, or parent--could attain his goal effectively. At first glance, this opinion seems to be somewhat appealing ,but further reflecting tells me that I cannot agree with it for the following reason. It is to explain lucidly and to set examples actively the best way to teach.
To begin with,what is the purpose of teaching other people?The answers is wildly acknowledged--to have others do as the teacher wanted.Giving lectures is the first and fundamental task of an educator. Only in this way ,he can let the students know why the principle is correct, how to make good use of it to solve the problem in the reality.After the thorough speech ,a constructive behavior of the audience is anticipated. Then it’s time for teachers’ judgement. While the fact above is a case in point,let’s consider the next example. To teaching his son fish, father leave the boy with fishing rod on the river band and watch football match at home waiting for the so called “action”. If the lucky boy comes back with any fish even a tiny small one,he would receive a “big hug”.And if not ,don’t worry, the fine dad is addicted to the TV, he would never mind his son has had a beauty sleep under the sunshine that afternoon.Obviously, the little boy’s fishing future is too bleak for him to gain the ability of this activity unless his father turns off his TV and goes to the river bank with the him. Actually, it is well known that the key to teach is let the learners know why and how to do rather than waiting for the effect passively.
There is no denying that emphasizing the importance of feedback to others’ performance. Admittedly, complement is one of the golden methods to encourage positive actions and ignore negative ones to some extent also has its own function.”The only time I feel full of energy and can’t wait devoting the whole life to my company is when my boss praise me ”,said a department manager in IBM,“for he is never stingy of this,I can reach my position today”. While praise is helpful to teach,to blame too frequently will hurt one’s feelings. Sometimes,the result itself ,led to by a negative action,can teach people as well. However ,a merely comment is still far from enough for a teacher.
To sum ,from what has been discussed above,this is no more ridiculous than on the assertion that the opium method to teach is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones. Showing why and how to do is definitely the key point to teach.And an appropriate response could perfect this procession.

The speaker maintains that by (后面是不是该是动名词 )praise positive behaviors and ignore negative ones a teacher--whether an educator, employer, or parent--could attain his goal effectively.(不是很明白这句改写,说的受益体使teacher么?) At first glance, this opinion seems to be somewhat appealing ,but further reflecting tells me that I cannot agree with it for the following reason(s). It is to explain lucidly and to set examples actively(example和way) the best way to teach.
To begin with,what is the purpose of teaching other people?The answers(汗,这个原因数目) is wildly acknowledged--to have others do as the teacher wanted.(这种原因偶从来没想过,原来教育的受众是。。。。想象一下,老师拿着鞭子抽打学生让他们学习,从而让他们学习。。从而获得满足)Giving lectures is the first and fundamental task of an educator(从没写过i,对教育的题目也不了解哈,不过把教育限制在这样的范围里好像窄了些). Only in this way ,he can let the students know why the principle is correct, how to make good use of it to solve the problem in the reality.(这种显示的用法不是很明白,有时间探讨啊)After the thorough speech ,a constructive behavior of the audience is anticipated. Then it’s time for teachers’ judgement. While the fact above is a case in point,let’s consider the next example. (既然这部分用来让步,那么不用说blame的问题吧)Sometimes,the result itself(看不懂的说法,result itself) ,led to by a negative action,can teach people as well. However ,(段内慎用转折)a merely comment is still far from enough for a teacher.
To sum ,from what has been discussed above,this is no more ridiculous than on the assertion that the opium(晕,最好的不是这么拼吧,好像是鸦片的说) method to teach is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones. Showing why and how to do is definitely(这个是副词吧) the key point(关键的话,用key就够了吧) to teach.(这句的意思是说关键要明确教育的目的还是什么吗?)And an appropriate response could perfect this procession.


观点一:感觉主要是谈教育者,而教育的接受群体才是重点吧。况且“Teach 是一个主动传授的过程而非简单的在对方行为后才做出反馈”并没有很好的驳斥作者的观点吧。重点是表扬和批评吧,感觉写偏了。
观点二: 让步肯定作者的理念,可是后面“批评总是伤感情打消积极性的,产生的消极结果本身就会有teach的作用。但肯定不能无限制忽略”不能理解。

我没有标新立异
这个题~~我就是这么看的
:L难道是本人固有缺陷。。。

原题:The best way to teach - whether as an educator, employer, or parent - is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones.

如果改成:
we should praise positive actions and ignore negative ones in the course of teaching.我绝对写成你们那样的。
问题是,我觉得这两句话的落脚点是不一样的啊~~
你们觉得呢

PS: TO 老大
this is no more ridiculous than on the assertion that the optimum method to teach is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones. 这句话是做六级阅读时抄的 应该不会错吧:lol
