响应酸奶JJ的号召,我自己改了一遍的.
It is common that homeowners concern about their property values and selling their houses at an appropriate price is the most important factor in determining whether to sell and to whom they sell. But the experience from Brookville seven years ago may not be suitable and accurate for the author to make the recommendation (罗嗦,直接用recommend就可以)that a similar policy should be promoted(这里用的是promote的这个含义:to urge the adoption of; advocate:促进,助长;促使采纳;倡议). Besides these logical flaws, the author also overlooks other factors that might also be significant.(换了一种开头的思路,其实还是重述了原文,但是还是和一般的开头不太一样的.)
When one wants to make a comparison between two things, he has to bear in mind whether the two can be compared. In other words, some things, although they (原句缺了they,就无主语了.)do share a few common characters at first glance, can be quite different(表达"不同的"的含义,还可以用:distinct, dissimilar, diverse) from each other. The case mentioned in the argument(表意混乱,改为The author后就清楚多了) does make comparison between two counties, but no evidence(no后边的名词是否必须是复数?经过考证,发现:1.evidence是可数名词,可以有evidences的说法2.no后边可以是单数也可以是复数,相应的谓语应该变化) is cited to show that these two communities share anything in common. Therefore, the experience in Brookville can not be simply adopted(或者说copied,这里更好的说法是policy can not be adopted,不要写成chinglish了). It is highly possible that houses in Brookville are built close(close本身可以当作adv.) to each other and are well organized, then such a restriction will make these houses together seems more neat and customers may want to buy these houses. But what if the houses in Deerhaven are not planned and built all together(也可以说是regularly)? Then such policy will not make these houses look better and may not therefore increase the price of the land. (这里举的都是很具体的事例,就是个别词句的表达应该再推敲一下就好了.)
Also, an increase(增加的其他说法:enhance, augment) in the price of (这三个次可以删去)the property values during seven years---a long time to some extent, can not be simply recognized as the result of the restrictions. In the first place, as we all know, during these years, as economic development seems to reach the highest pace in history, we have witnessed drastic changes in the prices of commodities including houses. Whether the increase in the property values are triggered by the same catalyst that have generated an increase in other commodities has to be concerned and sometimes these factors might be more important than the change in the house condition itself. Secondly, the author has to help us rule out the possibility that such restriction do actually set back the increase in the price of these houses. Although the values have tripled, one may begin to wonder if the values may be even more raised without such policy.
Finally, the homeowners in Deerhaven, which is an another important factor is omitted.
The author does not include this factor in his concerning and eventually the recommendation he makes would not absolutely reflect these homeowners’ will(改为wills). Does the homeowners in Deerhavern want their houses to be painted in the same color and their yards to share(want sb. to do sth.) the same characters with each other? Some might disagree. Also, maybe some houses in Deerhavern have a long history and are famous throughout the country, it is unwise to change these houses to be no different from other houses nearby. Before adopting a policy, it is better for us(多余了) to first consider the advantages and disadvantages of it, which is certainly overlooked in the argument.
In sum, the claim made by the author is neither logical nor practical to the homeowners in Deerhavern. If I were the author, I would consider other communities that do share major characters with Deerhavern as well as other factors in determining which policy to take. Maybe just a good advertisement will do better in increasing the property values. |
