2.丑闻的揭露依赖反映了舆论监督的力量,更是民主完善程度的体现,政治和学术均需要强有力的舆论监督,例如...;

3.然而过多的丑闻以及无中生有的丑闻,只能过度的消耗人们的注意力和精力,不仅无用反而误导大众。

Scandal always emerges as an eye-catching word on TV screen, in newspaper and magazines, publicly disclosing something shocking or immoral. People are so easily seduced by the charm of scandals that make it a useful and unique means for improving democracy and public good. Therefore, I generally agree that scandals are able to focus people's attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could. However, some irrelevant or fabricated scandals will not only ruin the victim's future, but also be detrimental to the society.

First of all, viewed from the nature of scandals, they succeed in satisfying people's growing appetite for improper or immoral privacy, and therefore those spotlighted incidents will receive intensive public attention and treatment. According to scientists, most people are born with a strong sense of curiosity which attracts them immediately to such shocking scandals as sex scandals of politicians, drug scandals of famous athletes and financial scandals of presidential candidates. As public concern keep mounting, the government or other social authorities under pressure will take actions to prevent further scandals. Drug scandals in Olympic Games serve as a telling example of their effectiveness and usefulness. After the Olympic Games Sports Committee detected the use of drug, it began to issue a series of anti-drug regulations. So far, relevant regulations are so strict and intensive that succeeds in deterring most potential drug users in Olympic Games. It is scandals' popular nature that makes it easier and more useful than speaker or reformer to attract public attention to problems.

Second, the disclosure of scandals reflects supervisory ability of media and the public, and even the democratic level of the whole society. Politics, academia and many other areas call for the supervision from scandals to ensure justice and truth. Take the notorious Watergate scandal for example, Washington Post was considered as an unsurpassed and tough political supervisor since it was bold enough to stand up to the powerful president and expose his evil secrecy. Without the supervision of scandals, the world would be more peaceful, but less interesting and democratic. With the absence of scandals, politicians, academicians, athletes and other main figures in scandals would miss an important moral deterrent while the public would have to live in ignorance unwillingly.

Admittedly, if the world is over flown with irrelevant or fabricated scandals, they will distract or mislead people's attentions to something trivial or untrue. Stimulated by profits, media as the main source disclosing scandals, is exerting all efforts to produce, exaggerate, and even fabricate some shocking news to disgrace or offend big images. Some scandals are immoral but somewhat irrelevant, distracting public attention to triviality. Back to , Bill Clinton was obsessed by the endless sex scandal with Lewinski while his excellent performance as a president is largely ignored by the media and the public. On the other hand, media are encouraged to fabricate scandals to attract more attention. These false scandals are misleading rather than useful.  Moreover, they even have the destructive power to overshadow all the other precious attributes of a person and therefore ruin a person's life. Therefore, irrelevant and false scandals are of no use at all except distracting people attention to unimportant or false incidents and even ruining victim's life.

In conclusion, viewed from the nature and function of scandals, it is true that in many areas, they are more effective and efficient to reveal and spotlight those evil facets of life than speaker or reformer. However, some false and irrelevant scandals will be detrimental to the targeted individual and even the whole society.

Scandal always emerges as an eye-catching word on TV screen, in newspaper and magazines, publicly disclosing something shocking or immoral. People are so easily seduced by the charm of scandals that make it a useful and unique means(unique 有点绝对吧) for improving democracy and public good.

As public concern keep mounting(??), the government or other social authorities under pressure will take actions to prevent further scandals. Drug scandals in Olympic Games serve as a telling example of their effectiveness and usefulness. After the Olympic Games Sports Committee detected the use of drug, it began to issue a series of anti-drug regulations. So far, relevant regulations are so strict and intensive that succeeds in deterring most potential drug (stimulant) users in Olympic Games.

(没有证明scandals的useful) Without the supervision of scandals, the world would be more peaceful, but less interesting and democratic. With the absence of scandals, politicians, academicians, athletes and other main figures in scandals would miss an important moral deterrent while the public would have to live in ignorance unwillingly.   (例证不足)

Admittedly, if the world is over flown with(filled with?) irrelevant or fabricated scandals, they will distract or mislead people's attentions (attention) to something trivial or untrue. (没有说服力,用某些娱乐明星的绯闻更恰当) On the other hand, media are encouraged to fabricate scandals to attract more attention. These false scandals are misleading rather than useful.  Moreover, they even have the destructive power to overshadow all the other precious attributes (contribution)of a person and therefore ruin a person's life. Therefore, irrelevant and false scandals are of no use at all except distracting people attention to unimportant or false incidents and even ruining victim's life. (逻辑不是很清楚)

In conclusion, viewed from the nature and function of scandals, it is true that in many areas, they are more effective and efficient to reveal and spotlight those evil facets of life than speaker or reformer. However, some false and irrelevant scandals will be detrimental to the targeted individual and even the whole society.

文章思路不错,但例证不充分,不过看到叶子是限时的,写得已经很不错了。
