The statement asserts that society does not place enough emphasis on reasoning and other cognitive skills, which I cannot agree at all. Actually, society always places a great deal of emphasis on the intellect, including recognition, deduction, and creativity, whether academically, economically, or politically.

First of all, the intellect is regarded as one of the most important character of an academic person. In the field of mathematics, students are required to answer deductive questions in every examination. They are asked to deduce one theory from another, in order to be tested by teachers about their deductive abilities. In the area of physics, recognizing physical phenomena is considered the most basic skill of a scholar, while in the domain of mechanism and arts, creativity is the most respectable ability of either an engineer or an artist. As a result, the intellect is especially emphasized in the realm of academy, and serves as an important standard to evaluate students, scholars, and experts.

Besides, the skills of reasoning and cognition act as a crucial property to distinguish successful economic dealers from others. Admittedly, in such a social area as economy, the ability of socialization rather than the intellect serves as the fundamental skills of a businessman. Nevertheless, the intellect is necessary for any economic individuals or organizations to become successful. Besides perfect diplomacy, excellent businessmen achieve their success depending on the abilities of foresee the resources distribution, predict the activities of adversaries, and follow the evolvement of market. As the skills of recognition and deduction enable a businessman to analyze contemporary circumstances and predict future situations, the intellect is greatly emphasized by economic dealers, especially those successful ones.

Furthermore, in the realm of politics, the intellect is significantly emphasized not only by politicians and officials, but by ordinary residents as well. On one hand, politicians and officials, similar to business dealers, have to develop the skills of recognition and deduction, in order to foresee the status of government, predict the activities of adversaries, follow the evolvement of world, and become successful. On the other hand, the intellect of ordinary residents is remarkably emphasized by society, for it serves as a characteristic of measure the development of education, democracy, and civilization of a region, a country, and the entire human society.

In conclusion, society does place much emphasis on the intellect, such as the skills of recognition, deduction, and creativity. The reasoning and other cognitive skills serve as a standard to evaluate students, scholars, and experts in academy, distinguish successful ones from others in economy as well as politics, and demonstrate the development of education, democracy, and civilization of a society..

交完作业就跑来看看夜一的作文，结果一看就傻眼了，观点和我相反。不过有一点相同就是都在抓是否给与intellect足够关注这点，看了一些其他人对这道题的评价好像很多都在顾左右而言他。
