Mathematics is considered the fundamental knowledge of other science. Philosophy id regarded as "the truth behind physics". When outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to a field of study, they often induce significant development. However, a field of study can also advance remarkably without the contribution of outsiders.

Admittedly, the knowledge and experience of outsiders can provide a domain of study with new discoveries, inventions, and ideas. For example, the calculus, a mathematic implement, has helped solve thousands difficult problems in physics, astronomy, and meteorology, and thus cause significant development of these areas. Besides, while the discoveries in chemistry contribute greatly to the evolvement of biology and medicine, statistics serves as a basic tool used in economy and politics. On the other hand, the fundamental area, mathematics, is also significantly influenced by other science. The famous theory of chaos, considered one of the most important discoveries in mathematics, has not been noticed by human beings until Lorenz, an atmospheric scientist, explained it to the world in 1963. Similarly, new studies in biology and medicine sometimes induce unimaginable development in chemistry, while phenomena in economy and politics compel the researchers to explore new mathematic solutions. As outsiders are able to input new knowledge and views, they usually make remarkable improvement in a field of study possible.

However, it is too extreme to over evaluate the contribution of outsides, as a field of can also advance significantly without outsiders. Take the area of arts for example. Admittedly, the development of mathematics, physics, medicine, as well as other realms can significantly advance the evolvement of arts, as the culture expressed in a poem can be deeply studied using the ideas of economy, the characters in a novel can be better understood basing on the theories of politics, the instruments used to play compositions depend on the newly invented materials in industry, while the colors used to draw paintings rely on the improvement of chemistry. Nevertheless, splendid periods in the arts' evolvement have appeared in either flourishing or depressing times of academy, economy, as well as politics. Many famous poets, writers, musicians and painters have accomplished their valuable poems, novels, compositions, and paintings according to their own talents, skills, feelings, and understanding of arts, rather than the contribution of outsiders. Their works are evaluated according to the contents rather than the applied economic and political theories, or the industrial and chemical materials. As a result, though the development of a realm usually depends on the knowledge and experience of others, it is too extreme to claim that a field of study cannot advance remarkably without those outsiders.

In conclusion, a field of study can advance significantly either with or without the contribution of outsiders. While the new discoveries, inventions, and ideas carried by the outsiders usually induce remarkable development of a field of study, the great success in a realm can also be achieved with the talents, skills, and understanding of the researchers within that field.
