154 "Both parents and communities must be involved in the local schools. Education is too important to leave solely to a group of professional educators."
154． 家长和社会都应该参与到当地的教育中来。教育太重要了，不能把教育单独交给一群专业的老师。
①        家长对于自己的孩子最了解。知道自己孩子的性格特征，在什么时候进行教育是合适的。如：有的孩子适合于在玩乐中教育，有的则不听话、只有严肃的教育才当回事。特别是一些身体不好或是有残疾handicapped的孩子，他们从身心上都需要特别照顾。老师若不了解，可能会伤害到孩子。
②        孩子有大段时间是不在学校的，但其健康成长应该是全面的full-scale教育，而不仅仅是学校教育。如：家长带孩子外出旅游，就可增加他们与大自然的接触，培养出眼界开阔的孩子broaden their horizon。若父母不参与到教育中，不在学校的时间孩子可能玩电游，或在一起看暴力片violence、或打架斗殴。
③        社区对孩子的教育也十分重要。A学校的一些活动、如历史教育需要参观历史博物馆history museum等等。这都需要社区的配合。B科学家指出：在良好的社区环境中成长的孩子，干净的社区环境、和谐的社区气氛对孩子成长十分有益。
④        但两者的干涉不可过度。老师们接受过专业训练professional training、教学是有体系的，有时家长不明就里横加干涉会给老师的工作带来困难。如: 家长有时只考虑到自己孩子的利益，而老师希望孩子学会谦让、体谅他人be considerate。

Since children are a nation’s hope and future, education attracts more and more concerns in such a modern world bristled with challenges. The traditional education which involves solely in a group of professional educators no longer fit for today’s development anymore. In my point of view, I fundamentally agree with the author that both parents and communities should be involved in the local education.

To begin with, the first reason why I agree with the author is that parents truly know the only need of their children including what is most suitable for their children, their characteristics, and when to start education. The example of Edison somewhat extreme best illustrates this point of view. Edison’s mother almost teach him all by herself because the teacher consider Edison as the most foolish student in his class and refute teaching him any more. It suggest us how the truly realization of the children’s talent plays the important role in a child’s education.

The second reason for my agreement has to do with that children spend significant time at home with their parents, which is also very important to the full-scale education of children besides school education. It is parents responsibilities to educate the kids at home such as supervising them doing homework, providing broaden spectrum of knowledge beside from books. Without the participation of parents, by merely the education from teachers at schools is far from enough. The children would prone to play computer games, watching violence TV, and involve in bustup etc if there is no supervision from parents at home, which constitutes a key part in especially juvenile growth.

The communities also can play a beneficial role in children’s education. Take the frequently school activities such as to visit a museum for example, which need communities’ cooperation. Moreover, the scientists have pointed out that a well-environed and healthy community is very beneficial for children’s cultivation. Growing in a healthy community will necessarily promote the cultivation of children. Suppose that one lives in a community which full with stealing, fighting, and homicide, how can he grow up healthily.

Admittedly, we should caution parents with less systematic pedagogical methods intervene with the education too much. After all, not all the parents are well equipped and having enough time to take their children’s education as the highest priorities. So when it comes to the ordinary course and pace of education, it is best to leave to educationists, who know the most effective teaching methods, a balanced education, and the developmental psychology effects in different stage of children, to solve these professional problems.

To the sum, both parents and communities beside professional educationists constitutes a full-scale education which is best suitable for children. Considering the important role parents and communities play in the children’s education, we should take the opinion of parents and communities factor into account for a better education.
