All nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems.
------正文------
I agree that all nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems. Such a global university will serve as a perfect supplement of global communication and cooperation. However, it is necessary to limit the support of nations to some extent as well as avoid over authorizing such a global university.
First of all, a global university is worthy to be supported by all nations as it can benefit global communication. Because of increasing global cooperation and competition in the realm of academy, economy, as well as politics, global communication becomes increasingly crucial. As a result, people use telephone and internet to exchange information, while governments send students abroad to study foreign situations. The understanding of partners as well as competitors is able to influence the efficiency of cooperation or determine the success of competition, and a global university is undoubtedly an excellent platform for conducting communication among various nations. Students can exchange ideas and thoughts with each other, while the school's history will become a good sample of culture confusion as well as confliction. Therefore, as a perfect place of global communication, such a global university should be supported by all nations.
Besides, a global university is necessary to be supported by all nations because of increasingly severe global problems. As a result of the development of human civilization, many global problems in environment, economic, and politics become so serious that they cannot be controlled without global assiduity. The environment problems of decreasing ozone, increasing carbon dioxide, and global warming threaten the surviving of human beings, while economic problems of unemployment and depression within a single country impact significantly on foreign companies. Moreover, political problems between two governments are able to influence global peace and war. These global problems are so serious that any incompatible activities will destroy the assiduity of others. For example, the refusal of a single country to protect ozone in atmosphere can cause unimaginable global crisis. Thus all nations have responsibilities to support a global university which intends to solve these problems.
Nevertheless, the support of the global nations has to follow certain restrictions, and it is unreasonable to over authorize such a global university. On one hand, as a global university supported by all nations is able to influence international attitudes significantly, it is unavoidably that some countries would like to control this institution, which may induce unfairness among students and reduce the credibility of the school. Hence, it is necessary to restrict the support of nations to protect the freedom and independence of the university. On the other hand, because a global university is no more than a common institution with various students and perfect educators, over authorizing its theories or attitudes will induce corresponding problems, such as over evaluating the graduates of such a school or discouraging the development of other institutions. As a result, the support of global nations should have some limitations.
In conclusion, a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems is worthy and necessary to be supported by all nations, but the support should follow certain limitations. Such a global university is able to benefit international communication and cooperation, yet the efforts to control or over authorize it will harm this school as well as other institutions. |
