TOPIC: ISSUE159 - "The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds."

This statement actually consists two claims:1.machines are tools of human.2. human mind will be superior to machines. In my opinion, I agree with the former one ,while suspect the assertion of the latter one because many evidence have proven that machines are superior to human mind in some area especially there is a standard in the area while human mind may have comparative advantages in other vaguer standard area.

First of all , I totally agree with machines invented and used as tools of human beings. One of the distinct characteristic of human beings from other species in the planet is only human can make tools especially complex tools such as machines .The fundamental purpose to invent machines come form human various desires including living more comfortable or working more fast and the like. With the help of those machines , human live in a more convenient and rapid era. Take communication for example. Email can be delivered immediately with vast amount of information at basically no cost leading to communication more convenient and less expensive. A person can keep in touch with the world from his privacy of his own home without having to set food outside. Thoughts and ideas can be put into writing and sent immediately to anther person on the other side of the planet .Instant message service allow communication with anyone that has a computer access to the Internet anywhere in the world. Thanks to the technological advance , people can keep in touch with more people in more places that in the past they can never be able to meet at all.

However, when it comes to the assert that human mind are always superior to machines, I suspect that this statement must depend on particular situation. With no doubt , machines have some advantages in the clear standard area. Machines are always good at  memorizing huge amount of information  and the calculation with greater accuracy and speed. In fact , it is due to they are superior in these respect that we devised them. For instance , if one want to search some things in the liberary ,after inserting some key words , the desirable result come out instantaneously while comparing to pure human action, he may need a whole day to find the result from stakes of books. No to mention the thing happened in the chess area that the famous machines "deep blue" win the champion in the world with its accuracy calculation.

Despite of those advantages of machines , there are many things they could not do in current. Mahines have no capacity for independent thought , making judgement without based on normative calculation and developing emotion. On the contrary ,there are many achievement that can be done only by human with creative thinking and individuality. The masterpieces in the history not come from machines but rather come from artists' inspiration. Can anyone arguer that Mona Lisa of Da Vinci which was produced hundreds years ago without the help of machines was not the "true art" in the world? Or is anyone going to arguer  that the incredible painting in Sistine Chapel at Vatican is done by machines rather than by Michelangelo's inspiration? We must concede that there are many things that mahcines, at least the machines of our period, can not achieve.

In conclusion, I consider that machines as tools of human have their incomparable merits in some areas while human minds are superior to them in other areas.
