In the modern world , the statues of books in information-transformation and learning has been chanllenged by TV as it(这个it指代错了,本句主语是book) is more and more popular among people. It seems that people would rather spend more time on TV rather than on books, whether for entertainment, like watching a TV episode, for information resources like watching the latest news , or for education , like watching the Discovery channel.最好不要这样写,结构不复杂,还乱 However , it does not necessarily lead to the conclusion that the books is less important than before as one can learn as much by watching television.
First, it is not always the truth that you can learn as much from TV as from books .. The information from the TV is in the forms of videos and sounds ,which are usually packed with much more information than mere texts, and also our brains receive information presented in these forms relatively easier.同一个句子里面不要来回换主语 That explains why you could learn to cook the chicken much faster by watching a TV cooking program than by following the instruction of a cooking book. Both ways give you the steps of the process, but in addition the TV offers you the image of the food ,the sound when it is cooked and often the cook’s commitment. These additional information helps one to understand the progress better and more efficiently , so you can learn as much from the TV as from the books accompanied with convenience. However , we can not learn a lot when exposed to too much information. Nowadays ,the amount of information TV offers us is often more than enough, usually stuck with the “trash information”, such as the commercials and soap operas, distracting us from the valuable information we ought to focus on and wasting our time.前一大半在论述与TS相反的内容。我不知道你怎么看,我觉得你的TS实际上就是在提反面的观点。not always不等于sometimes.
Furthermore, there are some information that TV is unable to convey ,that is ,the information related with abstract concepts and thoughts. For example, by watching the TV episode, Pride and Prejudice, one can get a general view of the story and characters, but only through referring to books can he get access to the deeper meanings the author , Jane Austin ,placed within her work. Like the famous openings of the book, “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.”, expressing her views on marriage with a humorous tone , is difficult to translate in to images to put into screens ,so that one could only acquire it from the books. So it is with the science concepts, one can watch a TV program to grasp a general idea of what the special theory of relativity is mainly about and several main conclusions, but the core information like the formulas and the process of reasoning lies only within texts in books.
In conclusion, the books are still one of the important sources of the learning ,especially as to those dealing with the abstract ideas .仓促了些 |
