It is true that in most cases, the scandals can help to focus our attention on the problems of various areas. But sometimes they might distract people's concentration from the most important issues. Even they might be used or make-up by some people to do harm to the main objective of the scandals.

Scandals take an essential role in discovering the problems of the society and focus public's concentrations on them. People are always like to talk about scandals once they are shown, which is really useful to promote the discovery of the truly problems and revise of them. The match-fixing scandals happened in Italy lately is a typical example here. Before the scandal, although there are several news or hint that were shown that it may have some problems in the soccer league of Italy, people just ignore it and still crazy about the match and play the soccer lottery. When the Italian major newspaper publish the scandal that some Italian soccer club might possibly control the result of the match in order to gain more money in gambling and achieve higher ranking, people suddenly realized the problems of the Italy soccer league and the investigation and judgment are following. Without the scandal appeared to the public, the bribe, control of the match and other illegal issues might still exist at present.

However, scandals sometimes distract us from the sole factors of the issue. We just focus on what the scandals related to, but overlook other parts which are far more important of the objectives. When the bribe scandals are discovered in almost every field such as politics, people just focus on the bribe issues or the subjects of them. But aspects such as the safety of the society and the economic policy that the politicians made which are essential to the development of a community are often fail to be considered. In my middle school, there used to happened a scandal that the headmaster at that time used the money sponsored by the alumni to invest stock market but lose almost all the funds. After that, everybody just focus on who should be responsible for the loss of the funds, who should be the next headmaster and what kind of punishment should be applied to the subjects of the scandal. At the same time, the academic development, the students’ performance and the safety of the campus which should be the most important issues that need to be improved immediately are overlooked. As a result of that, the performances of the students were almost the worst of the school’s history and there were several rubbery and ransom happened.

In some fields such as politics and entertainment areas, scandals are often exaggerated, even are made-up by some people who what to dispatch or bring bad reputation to their opponents. The former major of my city had experienced such terrible situation before. When he campaigned for his second turn in our city, the local newspaper controlled by one of other candidates published some stories about his financial ways which indicate that he might use illegal methods to gather his campaign fees. Once the news was scattered, almost everybody were taking about it and suspect his morality and ability to be a qualified major. Although he proved that he was not break the law, he failed the election for misdoubt by the citizens who might be likely overlooked his contribution to the development of the social welfare and economy during his duty.

Scandals are useful for focusing people's eye on some problems in many cases. But people should be cautious about the exaggeration and misleading effect of them and concentrate on the essential point when the scandals are exposed to them.
