Does the greatness of individuals only be decided only by those who live after them instead of their contemporaries? The author asserts so, and I agree with this considering the fields of arts. Nevertheless , while it comes to the areas of science, such as technology and business ,one's individual achievement can be recognized by people living in the same period with him or her.

First of all, the great work and achievement of individuals might be misunderstood even be ignored by the author's contemporaries, because the mind and thought of artists, such as ,painters, writers, and poets are always precede the mainstream of the favor of majority in the society.To illustrate, we need to concentrate on the life experience of 22whose works now are respected the most valuable work in the fields of abstract painting school.His greatness is recognized widely around the world after people began to understand the thought and meaning of the works, which ,however , is  absolutely different from the society where 22 was living since even no people got the sense of his pictures and 22 lived a miserable and extremely poverty stricken life.

However, when it comes to the development process of natural science and technology ,the personal greatness is mostly recognized by the immediate society and the new theories of scientists, such as, physics, computer technology, or mechanical engineering are always be able to be appreciated and become popular by applying them in the daily practice .For instance, by campaigning a new series of software or programs that are useful and effective to customers, the computer scientist can gain great honor as well as financial payment for his achievement immediately in the society.It is also true in the field of agricultural biology , each new sort introduce of breed that can result in higher output will bring the scientists who developed it great recognization among their contemporaries.

Finally, personal capacity and greatness can be praised and respected by one's period if the achievement appears in business competition .Just like the situation during the wars, people who can defend their land and defeat the competitors would be honored by his or her accompany and be pushed to the position of leader .During the fierce competition of today's customer directed market, only by great risky tolerance and wise vision can a competitor make proper decisions responding the instant changes of overall business climate, therefore getting the access to survive and prosper .Any good idea that can be put into practice and win profits or market proportion for a company will bring its owner instant promotion, wealth, and recognition from around peers and people who he or she is working for.

In conclusion, although individual great work and mind of arts might be mistreated by people living contemporarily because of their unusual thought and vision toward certain areas which is too abstract for ordinary masses to understand , in the realms of natural science and business personal achievements can always be proved their value during the process of real practice.
