As we see the magnificent change in the last century, it is the development enforced by research that advances our production and makes our lives more convenient. Without any doubt, research is essential to us and since it needs large amount of fund, I basically agree with the view in the issue that money on research is always a good investment though some are controversial.

Research is in such an important position that we must support it in economy. History and the reality both tell us research results especially on science can often bring us huge change in technology accompanied by progress in every aspects. From aspirin to insulin, from jet plane to transsonic plane, from television to Internet, all of these facts indicate we must pay much attention to research. Yet, there is another fact that almost every research will cost a lot of money especially some large projects cooperated by several institutions or even countries. For example the plan of landing on the moon held by the United States which was rewarded by president Kennedy a opportunity to examine the entire country's strongest strength in research, economy and so on. In front of such great researches like this one which is a landmark on the process in exploring universe, we should admit the investment is necessary and worthy.

On the other hand, results of research are controversial which is no strange however this dispute can be solved through our own effort. Scientific research always explores an unknown world so the results cannot be predicted originally and moreover research has always been a two-edge sword which can bring benefit also with potential harm. As a consequence, controversy exists after the results published. Whether human can settle the conflict? In my perspective, the answer is positive. For example, the huge power of nuclear energy is know to all and its different ways of use can take the entire society to a paradise or the hell. Human can never forget the pain brought by atom bomb and many people object the use of nuclear energy. But if we use it to generate electricity, that will be an exhaustless and low-cost source. Actually, some governments have managed its use successfully. Contract about not using nuclear power and nuclear power stations worldwide give us a correct example. Relevant regulations on clone made by legislators also assure the healthy development of technology in clone. Relying on the proper involvement of government, these problems will have a satisfactory solution.  

Nevertheless, we cannot ignore a possibility that is the dilemma between two choices, one is a research unpredicted and the other is a project with obvious profit like building programs etc. In this case, decision-makers should find fulcrum obtaining the economic profit meanwhile not overlooking the research. Perhaps one could invest on profitable project first and then use the profit to support the research.

In conclusion, due to the key point of research, government should strengthen their concern on it including increasing investment on research. Although it's hard to avoid the controversial results, after all it's a character of novelty, people have the ability to solve the dilemma. Also I believe we human being can keep the balance between the risked and profitable investment. Anyway, emphasizing research generally will be benefit to human society.
