TOPIC: ARGUMENT47 - Scientists studying historical weather patterns have discovered that in the mid-sixth century, Earth suddenly became significantly cooler. Although few historical records survive from that time, some accounts found both in Asia and Europe mention a dimming of the sun and extremely cold temperatures. Either a huge volcanic eruption or a large meteorite colliding with Earth could have created a large dust cloud throughout Earth's atmosphere that would have been capable of blocking enough sunlight to lower global temperatures significantly. A large meteorite collision, however, would probably create a sudden bright flash of light, and no extant historical records of the time mention such a flash. Some surviving Asian historical records of the time, however, mention a loud boom that would be consistent with a volcanic eruption. Therefore, the cooling was probably caused by a volcanic eruption.

The arguer claims that because of a volcanic eruption, causing that Earth suddenly became significantly cooler in the mis-sixth century. To support this argument, the arguer cites that according to historical records survive from that time found both in Asia and Europe, the reason that reder a dimming of the sun and extremely cold temperatures in Earth, exists in a volcanic eruption which created a large dust cloud throughout Earth's atmosphere , resulting in blocking enough sunlight to lower global temperatures significantly. However, this argument relies on insufficient evidence supplied by arguer, which render it unconvincing as it stand.

In the first place, the arguer fails to supply convincing evidence to support this assumption that either a huge volcanic eruption or a large meteorite colliding with Earth creating a large dust to block enough sunlight, causing the low temperatures significantly in Earth. There are several possible events occurred in that time , such as the trend of wind change, extraordinary tides alternation and planet crash in universal but nearby Earth, all of which could produce a large dust cloud throughout Earth's atmosphere hindering sunlight coming to Earth, but all of these possible events are ignored by arguer.

Even if either volcanic eruption or a large meteorite colliding with Earth led to dimming of the sun and extremely cold temperatures of Earth, the mere fact ruled out to prove this assertion that, a volcanic eruption is the top case being responsibility for cooler temperatures. The arguer provides no evidence to ensure us that no a large meteorite colliding with Earth in mid-sixth century. It is paradox that the arguer poses that few historical records survive from that time, but this argument also utilize these historical records as sufficient evidence to support this view. Moreover, based on insufficient and unconvinced facts with a loud boom being consistent with a volcanic eruption, the arguer can not supply strong support to assert there was indeed a volcanic eruption happened in Asian in mis-sixth century. Perhaps unusual nature phenomenon such as tornado and tsunami, all of which could create huge boom as volcanic eruption does.

In conclusion, until the arguer cites trustful evidence to prove that a huge volcanic eruption is the only reason resultin in that Earth suddenly became significantly cooler in mid-sixth century, we can not believe that no any possible events brought about this phenomenon.
