I agree with the speaker that education will be truly effective when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. However, it is not the only aspect to make education effective for education is defined as the process of educating or teaching which means to develop the knowledge, skill, or character of students.

Interests are necessary in order to arouse the curiosity of the learner. Beethoven, As we all know, one of the greatest composers and musicians, created many symphonies. Astonishingly, Chorus which is his most famous symphony was produced with complete deafness. It must be the prominent imagination that stimulated him to struggle and thrive, thus he can even listen in spite of no hearings. This illustrates the point that everyone would try their best to do the things they are interested which is to say interests can spur students on to greater efforts because of their curiosity.

Can students master the knowledge well with their interests? I am afraid not. Nowadays, students can get knowledge through so many kinds of ways whether they are in the school or not. They can get the knowledge from their teachers, books in the school library or internet. Some students might find themselves bogged down in the Sargasso Sea of knowledge overload without a teacher’s suggestion on how to distinguish useful from useless. So education here is that teaching students the way of study, in itself, probably will more achieve as great importance as meeting the individual needs and interests of students.

On the other hand, the purpose of education is to teach a student how to live his life; one cannot live with his own interests. They usually have to learn several of subjects which most students are not interested in but have great use in our life, such as math, physic, chemistry. There is such a unhealthy phenomenon, some of the top students in the university give up their studies because they can not own their own living. In sum, students should learn a lot except their interests.

Current wisdom says that if you want to be succeeding, you need first co-operate with others for there a plenty of people who engage in the same area, making sure that everyone in the team has his own responsibility and would share their own the achievement to make the team better. Obviously, student can not get the communicating skill with their interests. in this case, Education will also be effective when it is designed to develop student’s cooperation, competition, teamwork, interpersonal skills through activities.

From what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that while interests can stimulate the students to study in some aspect, they need learn more to live their life which require the educator using different methods of study not only meeting the individual needs and interests of each student.
