ISSUE 11 All nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems
提纲： 1世界上最难缠的社会问题不是一朝一夕可以解决的，需要有知识有阅历的人来解决
   2不同的国家有不同的问题，如何协调好是一个难题
   3 更难的是，有些国家是有矛盾的，在一个问题上，可能看法正好相反。

According to this statement, author assumes that people should develop a global university under all nations’ help to engage genius to solve world’s most persistent social problems. It seems like an excellent assumption as people can gather the power all over the world to solve the most important problems. But in truth, I think it is just a prominent dream as it will meet many obstacles when this plan is executed.
First, the most persistent social problems can’t be solved in a short time. For example, the reduction of rain forests, which makes earth warmer year by year and threats the survival of human and other species. This problem exits because of human activities. You can’t require simply that people don’t cut forests anymore as their lives rely on the wood from the forests. To solve this problem, we need to negotiate with different countries step by step and it requires knowledge in various fields such as politics, finance and environmental. Students are unlikely to handle this just when they finish their study in the global university. Social problem can’t be solved easily only by gathering some talent students from different countries.
Another compelling argument against global university involves the importance of various problems. For different countries, the social problems which they put first are usually not same. For instance, in some African countries, they focus on how to raise the output of wheat as most people there are in hungry. On the other hand, the problem about foreign terrorists is a priority to American especially after they suffer 9.11 terrorists attack. For other countries, saving endangered animals should first be concerned. All these problems must be solved one by one. For the students of global university a new problem is that which problem should be solved in advance. If we can’t solve the problem of food in Africa, more and more people will die of hungry. We also can’t neglect foreign terrorists as we have seen the great impact brought by 9.11. American can’t afford this again. Actually, it’s a dilemma on this problem. Whatever decision we make is unfair to some countries. It is proper that countries focus on their own social problems and cooperate when some of them meet the same one.
Finally I want to add additionally is that the assumption of developing to solve most prevailing problems may even bring some conflicts. In different cultures, points of view on same problem are opposite. In western society, men and women own the same right. But in some Mid-east countries, according to their religion, a man can have a number of wives. In western eyes it is a kind of infringe of human right and must be abolished. Although a man with several wives is in no reason but can we just do as western think to abolish it simply? If so, I am afraid that the world war 3 will begin. All nations want to protect their own religion. From this point, it seems that gathering student from all over the world to solve problems together is hard to execute as different countries have different point of view. Sometimes the diversity between them is quite huge.
To sum up, although the assumption sounds reasonable that under all nations’ support developing a global university and engaging best students can solve the most intractable social problems, it is hard to come true when executing in the reality. The key point is that human society is various.  Different countries have different problems. Under distinctive cultures the points of view on same problem can also be diversely. Accordingly, as long as each nation is careful not to neglect to cooperate with others, developing a global university is unnecessary.

Students are unlikely to handle this just when they finish their study in the global university. Social problem can’t be solved easily only by gathering some talent students from different countries.（以一个主要的例子形象解释了第一个观点，但主题句解释不多不够明白，最后一句话与举的例子不是太符合的感觉）
