The author advocates that most important discoveries or creations are accidental when seeking the answer to one question but come across the answer to another. I agree with the author for the truth that around us for long but we just do not pay any attention to them and the other that the two things which the man are concerning may have the same kind of background.

First, the answer to the question that come across us may always around us but under a hidden and mistaken surface. A good example for this is the finding of the new continent --America, which was firstly thought to be the India by  Columbus who wanted to substantiate that the earth is round. This is actually the same as the author mentioned, but not mean that finding a answer does not cost any effort, it is totally different from that kind of ideas. The finding result is just as the author said an accident, which means the finders aim at other things but get  a different coming out.


Second, the connections between the two things that make it possible that we could get the answer from one to another. This calls for that the things involved must, to some extent, have certain relationship. Otherwise the people will never be able to meet this kind of phenomenon. Just imagine that, if a physician wants to know the law of the gravity, how can he find out that the nutrition element in a certain kind of vegetable. This, no matter to say, tells us that the things in the progress must have certain affect on each other, or else they will be no relationship for ever.

Admittedly, this phenomenon has happened around us for a lot of times, but it does not mean that if we want to find the answer for a question but should turn to the other in order to get answer for this. A wonder always happen when a certain pursuing is going on but not the original idea have expected this for much. For instance, if a person who is always dreaming of getting a big sum of money, but just dreaming instead of working hard for this dream, thus he may have no chance to get that kind of fortune, but if he work hard and be a good man ,he would not only become  rich but also find a good wife. That is the case. This illustrates that  a certain goal should be set ,but what unexpected things can we meet we do not know ,the only thing we need to do is like the NIKE slogan "just do it!".

In sum, the author's opinion is never a solution to the research method, but just a summarization of a certain kind of phenomenon. As mentioned above, we should treat things seriously instead of thinking about other impractical ways, as we get into the research area, otherwise we should still pusue what we are serving but just pay more attention to this and be more careful.
