Is it the artist who gives society something of lasting value? The speaker claims so, for the reason that artist mainly assume the creative works. Yet, strictly followed, in my view the critic, who possesses original criticism, could also contribute something of lasting value to society.

Admittedly, there is no doubt that artist may give society something of lasting value, in that works of artist is original one, which inspires us to achieve great things. Take the Chinese historical novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, for example, Luo Guanzhong, the author of this great works, depicted the turbulent period and rise and fall of the three kingdoms during the Three Kingdoms period. He left offspring not only some anecdotes of that period, but also something of lasting value. Firstly, this masterpiece provides precious research information of that stage to the historian, anthropologist and archeologist. Secondly, it affords plenty of anecdotes to enrich Chinese folklore culture. For instance, lots of events, such as Zhu Geliang’s Northern Expeditions, the Battle of Red Cliffs and so on, were adapted to Peking Opera, which were performed from one generation to another and seemed to never fade away. Thirdly, this giant works supplies profound references and suggestion to modern administration and business management strategy. Nowadays, many a management-knowledge-related books, based on the affairs of Three Kingdoms, is spring out, say, the bestseller book of the Boil of the Three Kingdoms. Apart from Luo Guanzhong, there are many artists, who have created immortal works of art, leaving valuable things for society, while due to the limited time and passage, I will not exemplify.

However, the critic could also add something of lasting value to society. This assertion is backed up by mainly two reasons: first and foremost, critics could offer valuable and insightful advice to artists, and then indirectly influence the artistic styles, which means create a sort of lasting value. One of proper example is concerned with the impressionism, which is a style of painting originating and developed in France during the 1870's. At its preliminary rise, critics, who bolstered the impressionism, always congregated to have a discussion, using their profound knowledge of aesthetics and a taste in art to comment on other painters' works and providing valuable ideas to their peers. Under this condition, the critic had made contribution to the development of impressionism. In addition, critic, who is familiar with a particular artist and his or her works, might have certain recommendation about those works that the layman would not have. So, to some extent, the evaluation of critics towards works of art helps the general individuals to appreciate the works and share artists' tear and joy, which means that the critic gives the artists' work the important social identification. This work itself done by the critic has generated a kind of lasting value.

Yet, some criticisms involved in too much self-interested critics, thus the masses are misleading and this sort of critic creates nothing of lasting value. These phenomena are prevailing in nowadays' society: some so-called famous critics make untruthful review on the pop-music or pop-literature in order to make a profit. Then the masses are apt to be misguided into buying it, while who will remember those criticisms and pop-singers or pop-writers when 10 years is past?

To sum up, artist and critic possessing impartial criticism are indispensable that they create something of lasting value. Arts would be lack of prosperity without the participation of artists; Arts would not be accepted so quickly by the mass without the proper criticism. So, both artists and fair critic create valuable works towards the development of art.

我也没有写多少篇，大概五篇吧，现在主要是在看范文～～
其实我只是前期准备工作做的比较充分，比如模版的准备，各个分论点的准备，例子的准备～～～
我觉得把这些功课做足了，先不说逻辑性什么的，任何人码个五六百字应该不成问题吧，
我觉得板上的17天计划满好的，强烈推荐啊

总体下来，正文前两段觉得很好，但第三段给我的感觉是要说功利评论家创作的为评论是没有持久价值的。我个人觉得不如说艺术家创作了价值，评论家促进了艺术的传播，最终使二者共同赋予艺术作品持久的价值。
