TOPIC: ISSUE159 - "The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds."

Would the human mind always be superior to machines? In my view, the statement is right, and I strongly agree with the statement, for machines are just tools of human mind, although they play an important role in our daily life.

Admittedly, machines play a key role in the development of human society. With machines, the production and technology have been rapidly promoted and people live a more convenience life. First of all, family machines, such as air-condition and refrigerator, make people's daily life comfortable and convenience. Secondly, when machines come to the community, they can be used to create wealth. For instance, many modern factories adopt production of automatizaion which make the production more efficient. Finally, the machines can help us to study the world and human ourselves. For example, when we begin a spacial study, spaceship, telescope and some other machines can be used as essential tools. In a word, our modern life cannot be good and efficient if without machines.

However, machines are created by human, and without human's thought and control, machines will be useless and even cannot be devised at all. Whether most machines can efficiently run, depend on the control, command and operation by human. Only when people operate the machines correctly, can machines complete certain assignment in a precise way. Most machines always follow the directions, while some exceptional machines can fulfill a whole assignment on their own such as Mars Rover. In fact, all programs have been designed before the whole assignment. For example, the Mars Rover is launched to study the Mars, however, the Mars Rover itself cannot make any analysis and just send scientists pictures of the Mars surface, all the actions are controlled by the programs designed before it is launched. Therefore, machines are only tools that are under human's control to complete assignments that human desire.

Besides, there are some essential differences between human mind and machines that human can think dependently, and judge what is good and what is evil. What’s more, human are full of emotion, so they are too sensitive to the events around themselves and are adept at creating and bringing forth new ideas. However, machines lack the skills mentioned above, they will never possess the ability of independent thought, subjective judgment and emotional response, although they have make a much more powerful machine.   

To sum up, machines will always fall behind human and will be only tools that human master in order to create more wealth, convenience and comfortable daily life, and new technology to solve more and more problems.
