94"Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study because acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated."
大学应改要求学生学习本专业之外的课程，因为让学生了解不同学科的知识才是教育的真谛所在。

1、            要求学生在有能力完成本专业的学习外，适当的学习不同学科的知识，对于开阔视野，增加知识面是非常有帮助的。也许，学生在此过程中发现了自己兴趣和潜力所在的专业。
By exploring subjects outside their own major, students may find new academic fields where lie their real interest and potential gift.
2、            不同学科之间是相互联系，相互促进的。学习专业之外的知识可以更好的学习本专业的知识，可以培养全新和全面的视角。
Since various disciplines were interrelated, the study of courses outside the student’s own field may benefit the study of their major.
3、            未来社会需要的是复合型人才，而不是与世隔绝的书呆子。只注重本专业的学习，很容易与社会脱节。
What the future society need is men with wide scope of knowledge, not pedants.
4、            必须承认，有的学生学习本专业都很吃力，没有多余的精力去学习别的学科知识。有的学生家庭贫困，需要业余打工来维持自己的生活。强迫这些学生是不明智的。
Not all the students have time or energy to study the other subjects besides their major.
总之，鼓励学生走出本领域，看看外面的丰富的知识天空是有益的，但是不能强迫每个学生都这样。
