The statement is ambiguous, to some extent. But as far as I am concerned, our society has placed enough emphasis on the intellect, in every aspect. And there is still some necessity to give intuition and sentiment some space.

With the development of today's society, we give intellect the priority. This is typically true in the science field. We try our best to give, the universe, the human activity, the human mental and body state and so on, the scientific explanation. Space crafts and satellites are continually sent to the space to collect data to further exploit it. Those old believes that the earth is the center of the universe collapse at our scientific analysis. We try to give every behavior--child's learning skills, juvenile's rebellious change, the murder's motive and the old's memory lose--a reason, believing that we can control them as long as we get enough information, and even we can not completely solve the problem at present, we still try to give the ineptitude an excuse. Once we believe that the weather is a tool by which the God show its mood, with sunshine showing its pleasure and thunder the anger, but now with a computer and some theories, we decide to predict the weather for at least one week accurately, and we still need more research to fully understand the butterfly effect to predict a bit farther. We even try to figure out the mysterious religions, the Jesus’ message is being challenged every minute. The VOA shows us the new science development everyday, claiming that we do place enough emphasis on the intellect.

Still, intellect is not the whole story; we need some intuition and sentiment to fully enjoy our life. There are subjects asking for passion, such as art. While we do need the basic information about the structure, the light, the rhythm, that mere knowledge cannot give birth to a brilliant artwork. No sensitive heart to appreciate the moonlight, the sea and the breeze,月光曲. Without a sensitive heart, you only appreciate the perfect voice and skill of the singer, not the hero's affection nor the author's aim. Absent a sensitive heart, only different pattern of color appear to you, the action painter's enjoy makes no sense. In addition, sensitiveness can help you fully understand other people and can reap intimate relationship. As a doctor, your detached attitude of examination can cure the wound of the patient's body, but no idea about the sad expression on the sound body.  What's more, sensitiveness can bring the sweet things of life-- the sunshine, the smiling flowers, the singing birds-- to you. The endless reason can result in psychological displacement and personal dissatisfaction.

Enough is enough. While reasoning cracks every myth down, there should be some place left for intuition and sentiment.
