TOPIC: ISSUE41 - "Such nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling, and
psychic and paranormal pursuits play a vital role in society by satisfying human needs that
are not addressed by mainstream science."

This arguement is the real situation today that people under kinds of pressure are likely to
relax them in such nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune- telling and so
forth, especially when they feel unhelpful and don't have any confidence to confront living
difficulties at all. I agree with the writer's argument that nonmainstream areas of inquiry
play a important role in society, however, why people wouldn't like to deal with their
problems through scientific method, in other words, why they can't be satisfied by
scientific explain is actually a social problem worth being discussed.

First, when unexpected incidents take place in your life, for instance, tough tasks are
continuously imposed on your working schedule whereas there are still lot of work need to be
finished or living pressure always make you feel morose and even worse you don't like to
communicate with anybody around you, I suggest you find a scientific method to relax
yourself rather than depend on some superstitious explains. After all astrology, fortun-
telling as well as psychic and paranormal pursuits are just take advantage of psychology
implication and mystery of itself to make people believe absolutely. In this way, it is easy
to make people believe in fortune whereas not to try their best any more. Because they have
believed the result given by those nonmainstream areas of inquiry.

Second, it should be conceded that mainstream science construct our real society, but it
seems to be too profound to be understand by the masses. So when people meet with emergency
they won't be apt to solve problems with scientific methods. Instead they resort to those
inexistent supernatural methods which are easily to be understand by simple words and
interesting but mysterious images. As a bridge to the scientific realm, our scientists,
physical scientists, psychologists and so on in universities should take charge of publizing
scientific knowledge to masses as well as teaching ordinary people how to deal with
emergencies in a right way. Science itself is not just composed with letters, axioms and
equations, it is the positively right description of the natural world in mathematic manner.
However it needs to be translated in simple terms to make masses understand and utilize.

In sum, people in this society need to be relaxed and confident to confront difficulties,
but they ought to be conducted in a right method. Nonmainstream is a part of our lifetime
but shouldn't play a vital role in society.

顺便找了worth几个词的用法，正好我也记不住了，一起复习一下
worth，worthy，worth-while都为adj. 意为"值得"。
1. worth： be worth + n. 当名词为金钱时，表示"…… 值得……"
be worth doing sth. "……某事值得被做"
The question is not worth discussing again and again.

2. worthy：be worthy of +n. 当名词为抽象名词时表示"……值得……"
be worthy to be done "某事值得被做"
The question is not worthy to be discussed againand again.

3. worth-while： be worth-while to do sth "值得做某事"
worth while： It is worth while doing sth
It is worth while sb to do sth.

这一段写得不怎么成功，分论点应该是“建议你们寻求科学方法”，而发展部分没有按照这个方向

1这篇文章可能是因为时间关系，字数偏少了。

2论证偏于单薄，其实第一点和第二点的意思是可以整合为一个意群的，那么一来，整个主论点只有一个角度进行论证，而且论证的不深入，显得力量弱了。

3就如第二点所说的，第一点和第二点可以整合起来：非主流依靠的是心理暗示，给人们以简单的解答，而科学却相比起来更深奥难接受-----〉两者对比，提出建议，我们应该对科学进行普及

4 其实这篇文章有些偏，我对于题目的了解是要求写“非主流在哪些方面做到了主流科学做不到的？”而不是要求写“评价非主流在社会中占重要地位这一现象”。当然只是我的个人想法，如果要按照你现在的中心论点写“这是一个值得讨论的社会问题”，可以详细的按这个链条写本体－本体是？－本体的发生/出现原因－本体的功能－本体功能对客体的影响－如何达到这种影响的－OR客体对本体形成的影响－客体如何达到的－结论（引用自别人的帖子）
具体可以写成：非主流占重要地位的表现――这种现象发生的原因――它有什么作用（给人们暗示等等）――它对社会有什么影响――我们应该怎么样消除它的不利影响
