Should college students be encouraged to pursue subjects that interest them rather than those promise entry into job market, as the speaker asserts? While I concede that the claim holds merit to some extent, undue encouraging student to pursue their own interests may have negative effects and in some times appropriate emphasis on subjects that are relatively easy to get a job in necessary for colleges to put on.

First of all, it is undeniable that pursuing one’s own dream and interest takes advantages for college students. It is well known that interest be the best teacher for one’s excellent learning in a certain field. In a society where knowledge in every area booms so fast as ours, energy and effects are demanded for one to be a expert, or at least a inside in a field, which means in the way of learning one have to dealing with lots difficulties. And in most times only the aim and likeness in the field can help one get though this. Look at today’s top scientist, all of which become fond of science in a early age and pursue for knowledge in university, college and high education. Those who pursue some subject that they do not really like, but in pragmatic consideration can not get high achievement at all or even drop out at halfway, which are happening around us in college.

However, too much emphasis on personal interest may not be a good thing all the times. To those whose interests are greatly needed by society or that could make great contribution to human kind, such as those interest in science, technology and so forth, extensive encourage is proper. But in some cases when students personal goals are not coincide with social demands , problem must arise when students be encourage unduly to pursue their own interests. For example, boys often dream about being some kind of professional sportsmen or sport stars and if they all decide to pursue the dream then most of them may get depressed years latter because that society do not demand large amount of plays , as well as actors, artists.

Besides, some kind of proper encouragement on subjects that promise entry into job market may be positive and pursuing for personal interest and pragmatic concerns may not be mutual exclusive in some times. Many prosperous industries like air, chemistry, genetic medicine, IT, electronic demand a large amount of young, highly educated and specialized people to develop and usually the average income in those industries are higher than those traditional ones. Proper encouraging students to choose subjects in those fields on the basis that they do not totally contradicting students’ personal interest can be beneficial to both society and students themselves for social demand is meet and unemployment can be releases . Since most students, as my observation do not show interest in only one or two fields, it is feasible for collages to encourage students to pursue some more lucrative careers from all the subjects they like.

To some up, the claim have merit on that pursuing for personal interest is beneficial to students, but it goes too far by ignoring the negative sides of emphasis on interests and also ignored is the benefit of encouraging students to take pragmatic consideration when they choose their subjects.

(如何这段能再写点学习好找工作课程的好处,会更好点)

总结:第一次限制时间写这样还不错.结构上没有什么问题,同意关注兴趣--过分关注兴趣--好的找工作的
语言也可以.
