Whether should teacher assign homework to student, different people may hold differnt perspectives, due to their multifarious background. some people think homework is a kind of burden to students, onerous and mechanical. However, in my opinion,daily homework is not neither rhyme nor reason. On the contrary, it could benefit students not only in learning, but in many aspects of their lives.

First of all, no matter how people criticize homework, could they not deny that daily homework can help students to undergird what they have leant on time. For instance, a child has studied three words at school one day. A kind of homework like useing those words to make several sentences, or copying those works two or three times on his/her excerise book will definately help he/she to remember those words. Because child at that period has a stong ability of mechanical memory-remember something by repeat it mechanically.

Secondly, daily homework is not limited in copying and repeating, this kind of homework assigned by a competative teacher could promote students' interest of study and dig out their capability. Take junior students for example, if they have learnt the process of energy trasfer and the conception of burning point,the homework about using a candle and a piece of paper to boil water will not only improve their ability of doing experiment and coping with difficulty, but inspire them to apply what they've learnt from books into reality.

Apart from those reasons made above, daily homework could do good to students to train their willpower. A fitting example will shed some light on this point. The most common homework assigned everyday is diary. A survey carried out by a academic association indicates that students who can finish their diary carefully and timely incline to accomplish other things seriously and betimes.

All in all, through daily homework, students could stenghthen what they have leant timely; through daily homework, students can figure their perseverance and the efficency. and through daily homework, it can help students to cultivate their will power and dig out their potential.

另外，作业是解决教与学这一对矛盾的一个重要途径，老师通过作业这个重要的反馈过程，可以帮助他了解教学进度是否适当，教学方式是否有效，并及时的作出调整。
