"In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty!!! should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach."
写完后发现完全跑题...

With the development and accumulation of human progress, the college and university students today are required to study a lot of knowledge in many fields relating to their major. Therefore someone may insist that there would be no time to work outside the academic world besides students' daily learning. Does working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they are taught improves the quality of instruction at the college and university level? In my opinion, the practical works will contribute much to the education; what's more, the time spent in the empirical workings may be far more worthy then those spent in reading books.

The remarkable///indelible deeds of many great individuals in the past vividly support the notion that practices play a vital role in learning and success. Considering Edison and his light bulbs, we can have a deep impression of the importance of practice. At that time, no evidences and references about the constitutions///components of a light bulb ever exist; therefore the only way to create a real bulb is to try the numerous possibilities out one by one. Finally, Edison succeeded after thousands times of failures. In this respect of view, practices may sometimes surmount///surpass the theories and achieve far greater progress. In other words, any invention is an exception and exceeding///transcendence to the former and traditional knowledge.

Moreover, when combined and reinforced by the dogmatic and academic knowledge, the experiences render to be even more efficient. Ever been a student, every one of us may have the memory of reciting some math formulas, given the situation that we just read them out aloud for several times and then tried to remember them, it is more likely that they will disappear overnight, however, if we applied them in doing the homework and solving some problems, we may surprisingly find out that the formulas are engraved in our minds even after a long time. It is only one plain yet common and general example of the mutual-enhancing of theories and experiences. In addition, this co-operating relationship can be adopted in almost every field of science and research. For example, each time before we start some experiments actually, we should establish the models and underlying theories for the coming experimental data first, this step relates mostly to the theoretical knowledge even though few people would realize it at all. After the successful construction of the academic foundations, the more crucial process of the experiment is to observe, collect and calculating data practically, and then come to certain conclusions. By complying to this process, we managed to conciliate the former theories and the innovative hypothesis together. In a word, it is obvious that almost every experiment and research occurred on the earth at present must obey to the principle of applying both theories and practices.///For the same reason, students may harvest abundance fruits while working outside academic world.

///relevant领域对major的帮助

Still, we must not ignore the fact that the students of college and university lack certain foundations of theories, conceptions and perceptions; therefore it is also folly to go to the other extreme to ignore///overlook the importance///ponderance of reading books.
In summary, the actual working outside the academic world can bring brilliant and sometimes unexpectable benefits to the students, thus every college and universities should encourage their students to take part in some forms of practical activities. As long as the extent and timetable constitutions are taken into consideration, working outside will not hinder and hamper normal education but rather promote and propel it.
