What is the final goal of education? In my mind, it is to satisfy the need of the whole society and individuals' development. How will educations be truly effective? Only both the society and individuals’ need are satisfied is real effective, without anyone of them, our society will be in chaos. The individual will lost what he or she live for, if his or her interests or need are not satisfied. The society will lost the clear goal of development, for without common ground which established by systemic education. We had to search for balance between education which satisfies the needs and interests of each student and the common education which teach student common sense and essential knowledge.

In a certain extent, education is effective when it is designed to meet the individual's needs and interests. One of teacher of mine has said (and I paraphrased):  'interests are the best teacher', interests make students fell well when they are studying. Admittedly, when we are doing things that we want to do, we fewer feel tired. Even we maybe work for a long time, we also are in energic. On the contrary, we will feel more anxious, when we are doing things that we do not want to do. Furthermore, interests maybe show what we are good at, in common, from childhood, we like to do things that are likely to acquire applaud. Education designed to meet the individual needs and interests will amplify the ability of the student who is talent in his fields. One of greatest writer in our country, Qian Zhongshu who did not like mathematics at all and was educated especially design for his interest, he went to the best school in our country with a score of zero in mathematics. But this is not cover up his great talent in language. So, education which designed for the individual's interests and need is the reason that many people get success, it play a role that antother education can not deplace.   
Even if it has so advantages mentioned above, I strongly assert that it not the only truly effective education.  As I have written in the first paragraph, this kind of education does not satisfy the needs of our society which is consisted of all people in this world. Either more source is used to meet every student's needs and interests, this means more teacher and more money in which should be used, or few real talent is indeed need this specially education. And does the scoiety real need so many genius? All of them have different interests, and maybe a little good at it. The cost maybe large, they have not the basic knowledge, someone does not understand mathematics at all, another does not understand law at all. The result is obvious that the society become chaos and these individuals live badly as well. So, the basic education like mathematics, law, morals, mores and principle of science which explains natural world is necessary in education.

Not only in daily life we need other knowledge beyond our interests and needs, but also in developing our interests need it. Everyone can understand a little in his scope, the other knowledge has large help for us sometimes. The arts, for instance, need the artist need not only skills they have, but also more culture background. A poet without knowledge of philosophy and psychology can not write good poem which arise echo with other people. Either our daily life or our interests need another education which do not specifically designed only to meet our needs and interests.

In sum,   searching for the balance between special education and the basic education is the best way for us to cultivate good students who both have his advantage and with basic knowledge. Only this can enhance the quality of individuals and the whole society.
