   例子：传统道德对人们的约束，使得各国对克隆技术持谨慎态度。
   例子：二十四节（Solar Terms）气对当代农业的指导作用。
4．事实上，在在很多地方，Tradition and modernization是能够共存的。
例子：世界上很多大城市都由是老城与新城两部分组成的。
例子：在日本，大街上随处可见穿和服（kimono）和现代服装的人，街上既有
电影院又有传统的艺妓（geisha）歌舞。

In the author's view, he asserts that tradition and moderation are incompatible. We should choose
between them. As far as I am concerned, I totally disagree with author's convention. Though, we have
to admit that modernization bring certain damage to tradition, as matter of fact, tradition and
modernization can benefit a lot from each other.

Admittedly, The progress of modernization follows with the destruct of tradition.
The serious problems resulted from modernization are embodied in several aspects below. Old houses
and traditional buildings are gradually replaced by modern buildings such as brilliant hotels and
high-rise skyscrapers. The elegant avenues are now lined with cinemas, restaurants and many other
modern things. Furthermore , our traditional values are substituted slowly by some modern values.
People never feel embarrassed with the sexual topics and we are bored with the phenomenon about pregnancy
without marriage. What is worse, many traditional things such as languages spoken by few people, some
traditional techniques of doing crafts disappear gradually without our realization. So, we have to concede
that the conflict between modernization and tradition exists in the present.

Nevertheless, we should also realize the fact that modernization has a good effect on traditional things.
Taking the preservation of antiques for example, with the development of new technology, more and more
valueless antiques can be preserved in a good condition. Many new physical and chemic methods are used
to handle with antiques. The history also informs us the international progress of Beijing Opera. Beijing
Opera is one of china traditional arts generated from the Qing dynasty and is popular with populace nowadays,
especially for old people. With the advent of various modern media, Beijing Opera has the opportunity to show
at the international stage and attract more foreigners to learn and act Beijing Opera. Thus, our traditional
things can benefit a lot from modernization.

In reverse, tradition also exerts a good influence on the development of modernization. With the rapid advancement
of biological technology, we have to face serious problems which offer a chance to destroy our fundamental traditional
values about human. The new technology of clone not only excites many scientists with the hope of solving transplants
problems successfully but also give rise to a big argument about our ethical and moral standards. However, under the
consideration of the potential risk the clone technology may bring in, many countries make laws about the limitation
of the new technology about human. In addition, some traditional laws may also help us a lot. As is known to all,
the 24 solar terms stem from the succinct generalization of the best timing for cultivating crops .The laws can still
provide guidance for farmers work. Because of this, it is rational to say that modernization can also learn a lot
from tradition.

In reality, our daily experience informs us that modernization and tradition coexist in our world in many aspects.We
all familiar with the view that many famous cities consist of two different parts. One part called the new city contains
many grand edifices and modern skyscrapers with wide roads around packed with lots of cars. The other part called the
old city contains the traditional buildings and traditional customs which make travelers have an illusion of living in
the ancient times. In the Japan's streets, it is not amazing to find that people with traditional kimonos and modern
suits walk together. You will find that modern cinemas and traditional buildings for the performance of geisha stand
together. So, our human have realize that the significance of tradition and take measures to make tradition and modernization
compatible with each other.

To sum up, I hold the conventions that both of tradition and modernization have their own features which benefit from
each other .It is our obligation and responsibility to keep a balance between the development of tradition and modernization.
