It is true that there are great figures who contribute to the society in the history. But is it only them who the history study focuses on? The answer is definitely no since the great progress of any society should be attributed mostly to people.

In the study of history the effects of some individuals are highlighted which doesn't always present a reasonable and beneficial view. This is especially true when it comes to the significant events. If we mention the World War Two, for example, the first we think of is outstanding presidents such as Roosevelt and distinguished generals like Barton. It is beneficial for us to learn wisdom and courage from these figures, while this will limit our understanding and views of historical achievements since the great power of people is omitted.

Without the involvement of most ordinary people, not any progress can be made and neither reform nor revolution can be successful. Return to the example of World War Two, it was millions of soldiers who enforced the decisions and commands of presidents and general and eventually defeated the German army with their blood and sweater. On the other side, women and old people who left in the homeland built a solid material fundamental for the army with their hard working on productivity. Thus, when analyzing the events and success in the history, it is unjust to pay little attention to the contribution of ordinary people.

Not only the significant event, but also the development trend of human beings is determined by generations of our precedents since they create the material and spiritual civilization in any country at any time. Consider the most brilliant culture of China. The Great Wall, one of World Seven Miracles, was built by millions of our ancestors in Qing Dynasty whose names we will nerve know. Greek culture, the recourse of Western culture, is cultivated by civilians in ancient Greece, not only by several figures such as Plato, Homer. The power of people is so enormous that we cannot skip when facing the brilliant civilization.

From the research of distinguished persons in history, we can learn their characteristic and merits which contributed the achievements. However, we can learn more form people who create human civilization and lay base for progress and reforms. The latter makes us realize the difficulties of building up a society and the power of ordinary persons.
