why do people work?

People work because they need money to live. What are some other reasons trhat people work? Discuss one or more of these reason.

Almost every adult would like to have a job. The reasons for the phenomony vary for different person while a wildly accepted reason is they need money to live. Then, what are the other reasons for people to work except the one before? As to me, I believe people work for being meaningful to ourselves, the society or even the world. I will give my reasons one by one as follow.

To begin with, it is a happy moment when achieve a goal after hard working. Each, almostly, of us may have a goal from time to time and then the longing for a success of the goal then is a great reason for working. Once we achieve our goals, the happiness comes along. Take me myself as an example, I have a goal to study in the foreign counry America, and then the goal is urging me to work hard to achieve it. If I can finish it, I would be extremely happy. So, the goal is nodoubtly a reason for our working.

More over, working makes us have the sense of being members of our society. The society is composed by each of us, and depends on the contributions from each. Then, the contribution is a signal of being a member of the society completely. Once we do a useful thing for the society, the feeling of being a part of the society apears. Take my teacher Mr. Gai as an example. He is very old but still keep working all the time. When asked why he still works, he answers that he want to have the sense that he still be a member of the society. Then, working sometimes gives us the feeling of playing a useful role of the society.

The last but not the least, some people work for the reason of contributing to the world. The scientists, most of them believing, work for the interest of the human all over the world. They keep work hard to finger out serious problems such as the cancer, the pullution of the air, and something so on so forth. Such problems compel them to work hard and efficiently to make them out on behalf of the human worldwide.

All in a word, people work for various reasons except the one they need money to live. So many reasons make us be willing to work, but not only have to do so to live. So many reasons make our work meaningful.
