------题目------
While some leaders in government, sports, industry, and other areas attribute their success to a well-developed sense of competition, a society can better prepare its young people for leadership by instilling in them a sense of cooperation.
------正文------
The art of leadership is to know how to compete and how to cooperate. Therefore, I largely agree with the author that the successful preparation for leadership rests on striking the delicate balance between developing the sense of competition and instilling the sense of cooperation.

On the one hand, the sense of competition plays a crucial role in every stage of leadership, from before to after. For one thing, common experience of our life teaches us that it requires remarkable effort, competence and inspiration to stand out of the peers through fierce competition up to the highest point as leaders. A sense of competition could equip the youngsters with the ambition, aggressiveness and eagerness to weave a fierce battle with their peers pursuing for the limited positions as leaders; a sense of competition would pull someone harshly from the bottom of despaired after every lose and cheer them up for a novel round of contest; a sense of competition might force the young man to expand their boundary via extensive reading, participating activities and practice the theoretical knowledge.

For another, even after somebody manage climb up the ladders and reaches the higher level as leaders, a sense of competition will never become obsolete. Information technology, Internet connection and process of globalization have waved people worldwide into a immense net that introduces wider range of competition. Captains of soccer have to face opponents from all over the world for the cup; CEOs must emulate their global counterworkers so that their products could dominate the market sharing; the presidents of diverse countries should prepare their countries to stand out in the conflicting interest, competing in various areas including science, economics and politics. Therefore, people rely on the competitive spirit at all stage of competition, from pre- to post- leadership, from intra- and extra- leadership.

On the other hand, the spirit of cooperation contributes equally to successful leadership and preparation for leadership. With the information explosion gradually isolating our world into specialists, the generalists that could master every field of inquiry and accomplish each bit of the work have become rather rare at the time being. Instead, the huge projects are divided into smaller fractions which are assigned to different members with expertise of various areas. Therefore, effective leaders act as the cores of the teams that make acquainted with the function of various parts, assemble independent components into a whole and converge experts, specialties aiming at the same destination. For instant, no president in the history of the United State is a solitary hero that runs the election campaign all the way to the presidency by himself. Neither could he administrate the country successfully without consultation of the Senate, the Supreme Court and countless other members that run the huge country in order. Competent leaders understand the sense of cooperation to organize their think tank, to pick up people for the right position and to coordinate the departments in harmony. Moreover, the leaders have to cooperate with leaders of other similar groups on certain occasion. Suppose the government is to implement an act unpropitious for the business of certain industry, leaders of companies in the same industry would cooperate and form a line to fight for their rightness even if they are under constant competition. In a word, a sense of cooperation is indispensible for successful leadership.

In sum, to strike a balance between competition and cooperation is vital to foster leadership in young men. For life is a paradox: it forces us to struggle to stand out from numerous peers, to win competitors, to fight for the higher level while it seldom allows us to accomplish such tasks solitarily. The rabbis of the old put it this way, “Running against each other in a race may benefit our speed while cooperation jointly organizes a wonderful sport.”
Good luck and great success in the coming New Year.

LESTOU来拍

The art of leadership is to know how to compete and how to cooperate. Therefore, I largely agree with the author that the successful preparation for leadership rests on striking the delicate balance between developing the sense of competition and instilling the sense of cooperation. 比较牵强,这个不是作者观点吧。仔细读下这句话:While some leaders in government, sports, industry, and other areas attribute their success to a well-developed sense of competition,这个是拿来做反面教材的,作者观点在后半句

On the one hand, the sense of competition plays a crucial role in every stage of leadership, from before to after不懂是什么意思. For one thing, common experience SENSE of our life teaches us that it requires remarkable effort, competence and inspiration to stand out of the peers through fierce competition up to the highest point as leaders. A sense of competition could equip the youngsters with the ambition, aggressiveness and eagerness to weave a fierce battle with their peers pursuing for the limited positions as leaders; a sense of competition would pull someone harshly from the bottom of despaireddespair after every lose and cheer them up for a novel round of contest; a sense of competition might force the young man to expandtranscend their boundarycrest via extensive reading, participating activities and practice the theoretical knowledge.这组排比用的很玄,不过感觉有些语法问题和搭配不当

For anotherFURTHERMORE 是不是更贴切呢?因为这段是上段的递进关系, even after somebody manage climbclimbing, manage doing sth up the ladders and reaches the higher level as leaders, a sense of competition will never become obsolete. 总体结构和例子都不错,看得出是用心准备过的。
很多地方用的都很玄,但是我感觉最大问题是很多动名搭配不太合理,同样也是我看到最多的问题,不过能力有限,拿不出太多好意见改进。
