Nowadays, society changes time by time. We need to keep learning the knowledge that like the active spring flowing water and then adapt the changing society. The appearance of internet accelerates the replacement of information. People feel that our society develops with a unprecedented rapid. Modern live are so new and complex. But it cannot be said that people should or have to ignore the study and research for the past. On contrary, an understanding or an learning of the past is important to the society.
To begin with, learning about history provides inspiration. For example, a student inspired by the courage and tenacity of history’s great hero might find power to achieve his goal. We all admire the people written by history for those whose courage to contest authority, strong will to facing hard situation, determination of going on. And then we will see that ourselves are so lucky and happiness compared with their hard life but even shame that we are so ridiculous to sorrow with just a little difficult.
In addition, mistakes of the past can teach us as society how to avoid repeating those mistakes. Every discovery, invention and achievement cannot due the individual. Those famous person reached the peak of his field must walk on the road that the people before haven’t walked over. They all avoided or inspired the mistake that the people before made and then brought a great change to science, or society.
Studying human history can also help us understand and appreciate the morals, values, and ideals of past cultures. We understand the morals by dating back to history and know the importance of morals for produce and maintain the low of society. Learning history makes people wisdom. Reading history shape people’s values, board people’s sight and depth people’s thought gradually. And the more important, for a bullied nation, history remember the humiliation and wake the nation. A memory is motivation of development. Also, remembering the calamity made by war, we make our world far away from war as much as possible.
