TOPIC: ISSUE38 - "In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books."

Modern science has changed people's daily life dramatically. Some important inventions such as televisions are playing a much more important role than it was before. Under that circumstance, some say reading books would be substituted by watching television. After an all-sided analysis, I concern that both of them will company with human in the visible future.

The similarity of televisions and books is that they both provide people much information and entertainment. It is an age of information, a huge amount of new things appearing in every second. As the media of communication, they play such an important role in transporting messages.  Thanks to books and televisions, masses can reach fresh things at the first time.

Let's pay attention to the differences between. Television makes the information visible and audible, and consequently it influences people directly and heavily. We can see an opening ceremony of Olympics clearly and feel the magnificent scenery and gorgeous fireworks. Also, without walking out, we can enjoy a movie just like sitting in the cinema. The second feature of television is that it transports the information fast and immediately. When the political events happened, TV news brings us the latest news with the image and sound of the key persons and whole process of the event as well as some critical reports provided. So it is undoubted that some said with television, I have the whole world.

Also, book has its own advantages. In the realm of researching, the classical theories are all released in the form of book. It is the formal style for releasing important and classical information. For students, they prefer books because of its convenience and portability, and they can read them everywhere they want. Also comparing with the waiting before a certain program, reading book is flexible for nearly every place even in a tiny room. Another feature of book is that it provides deeper and further things in comparison with the entertainment of television programs. Some abstruse theories will not be made as television program for good but books will be always in need.

Television is vivid but superficial, while book is tedious but profound. Television can bring us the freshest news, while book provides us the deep reasons and the details of what happened. They just like the two wings of a bird. Without each of them, bird cannot fly with balance-we cannot get a comprehensive view. In this modern society, not only do people need entertainment, but also the profound ideas. It is also a reason to support that both of them will exist in the future.

” All that is real is rational; and all that is rational is real”, said by Hegel. Both of television and book have its own advancement. As a form of media, they benefit human society in different situation, so neither of them would be substituted by another in the long future.

（觉得有点奇怪，你限制时间写的时候issue的字数为什么没有argument多，应该不是打字慢吧，要找找原因，是因为没有东西写还是什么。其实我的作文限制时间写的时候没有600多，那个是改了以后的字数，不过也接近600了，只是觉得写的时候思维很混乱，我们考试的时间差不多，好好交流下，现在你平时写的频率是多高啊，怎么安排复习进度的？^_^）
