Undoubtedly, science is the main type of research and inquiry for human society in history, while, at the same time, nonmainstream areas such as astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal pursuits also play a considerable part by satisfying human needs. Although they are not addressed by mainstream science, no one can trivialize their huge function.

First of all, they give people spiritual support for some eternal questions. When a person was born, what he will inevitably meet with is death. Human is such a self-contradiction specie that it has unlimited emotions and thoughts but a limited age and body, which means that something about spirit would become a even issue for this specie. Although they are full of courage and ambition to fight with nature with their most fiercely weapon-science, they could not even win a little battle in the realm of spirit easily. That is the root reason why astrology and other nonmainstream areas of inquiry exists and survive-the universe is full of complex and uncertain, the fear and afraid will not disappear. For example, when someone parents pass away accidentally, whatever the rational words say, he cannot relieve the pain even a little. But when somebody tell him that, his parents are in the heaven now and watch him with smile, hoping him have a happy life, he may feel better and recover from the suffering to build his brand-new life.

Secondly, so many mysteries can not be explained by science while astrology and other nonmainstream inquiry could offer an answer. Newton and Einstein, the two greatest scientists both finally contribute God as the origin of the world, let alone other usual people. The certain things are always fewer than the uncertain. The more thing you know, the more you realize that there are so many things you cannot understand. That may be the reason why these two greatest scientists go to the nonmainstream areas.

Admittedly, these things are vague and uncatchable most of which can not be demonstrated in logic. And we should have a positive view of the world, and believe that tomorrow will be better with our diligence and intelligence. Being Obsessed in astrology and other nonmainstream things left one unconfident and puzzled about the things beside us and difficult to focus attention to daily life which is unnecessary and harmful because we still live in the real objective world.
