为了提高大学的教学质量，所有的教职员工应该去校外参加一些和他们教的课程相关的工作。

As greater numbers of high school students entrolled in univeristy during the 21th century, education would be the main powerful social and economic force. To improve the quality of instruction at the collage and university thus become a significant thing. Then how can we do? Many people suggest that university faculty should work outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. There is no denying that working experience in relevant occupations enables colleges and university faculty to provide pratical instucation to student. However, it is not so appropriate to say that all the faculties should be required to do so .  

For the faculties those who teach applied sciences, working experiences relevant to their major could improve the understanding of the courses they teach. For the students studying applied sciences, one of the most important thing is to combine theory with practice. People who study computer should to know the up-to-date procedure. As for me, my major is material chemistry, and I have to learn the new material production. Because of stress of many curriculums, students have not enough time to go outside and do some practical job. However, teachers can do this instead of us. Practical experiences can let the faculties know the demands of society about their majors. Then they can better design their courses to meet the society’s need. Learning these lessons, students will hold the most usefull knowledges to deal with their future jobs. Meanmile, if faculties who do the job outside could offer more informations about job market, students can better select their future career and make sure the purpose of study at present. Notice that too much outside work may do harm to instruction. The faculties should keep a balance between outside work and instruction.

Nevertheless, faculties engaged in some disciplines, like theory physics, the history of middle ages and so on, which have no immediate applications to our daily lives have not to go outside for practical experiences. Firstly, except college and research institution, there is no proper job for them to do. Secondly, practical experiences in professions have not much help for faculties to improve the quality of instruction. For example, students study The Divine Comedy, they don not need to go outside for some practical experiences. Furthermore, there is hardly any job can provide some uesfull experiences. They need read lots of materials about The Divine Comedy. It is the same with the students studying Astrophysics. The researchers in these area just need academic fruits rather than working experiences.

To sum up, education is a very complex sysem, different fields are fit for different way to improve the quality of instruction. Therefore, the speaker’s conclusion is a bit unilateral. it is unnecessary to desire all the faculties to gain practical work experience in relevant professions. What the instruction need is a free and equal environment.
