TOPIC: ISSUE103 - "The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives."

In the modern world, in which lifestyles changing rapidly, we still find out that the emphasis on history is not declined--schools set history courses as a necessary choice for students to learn and in the society,　governments spend myriad of money on the preservation of the historical building and research. Why? I want to use the word of an Italian philosopher as an answer:　"whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past, for human events ever resemble those of preceding times." Obviously, the study of the past is of great value in every area, and the contend that is  relevant to our daily lives is too narrow.

It is history that keeps inspiring people to achieve their dreams. In the area of science research, touching stories appeared everywhere on the famous scientists, who sacrifice themselves for the progress in the exploration of the truth. An apt and familiar example is about Marie Curies, the women who died of leukemia seriously , which come from her though discovery  of the first natural radioactivity that start the cancer treatment in biology. As an woman, she did not show any fear but great spirit in diligence, loyalty to her dream, insight observation, which motivate a lot of young men and women,　who regard her as a model, to conquer the difficulties without fear.　Thanks to Marie and the historical scientists who record those great stories.

The ancient people also leave us a splendid heritage on traditional culture and civilization, which bring us authentic enjoyment globally. You will never forget the elegant appearance of the unique temple of goddess Athena in the City of Athens, in which a mountainous myths will be more attractive. Similarly, The forbidden City in Beijing, China will strongly impress you, for the fantastic design of the royal construction and the fabulous antiques preserved in the museum. Despite the scenery point, people are always appeal in the fantastic historical stories. These are all valuable wealth for all the human beings that can remind us all of the splendid past and give everyone of us a strong hope for a more beautiful future.

Despite the usage in mental area, history has been used in various ways practically. Take the judicial system as a typical evidence. In the court, history sets precedents of judicial cases, which are studied by judges before they make decision in similar cases themselves. Also, the effectiveness of certain punishments for offenders is evaluated through the previous history. However, why not all the nations use the precedents of judicial system in their law? To solve this problem, we must appeal to the history again for the origin of the separated culture and ideologies of the nations themselves.

Besides of the daily life, History plays an important role in every other parts of our society.
