I agree with the author’s point of view. The role of law is to protect the benefits of citizens, the protection of the rights of citizens. Human should obey just laws and, resisted the unjust laws resolutely.

Every individual in a society should obey the law, especially the just law. In our society, law is not only designed to govern our conduct: it is also intended to give effect to social policies. For example, some laws provide for benefits when worker are injured on the job for health care, as well as for loans to students who otherwise might mot be able to go to university. From the examples we talked above, we can see that, to obey the law can make our society more harmony and more security. Even in a well-order society, people have disagreements and conflicts arise. The law can provide a way to resolve these disputes peacefully.

Although the role of law is to make the social stably, there are still unjust laws. These unfair laws are likely for the sake of safeguarding the benefits of a few people, rather than the benefits of the society. For example, during World War II, Hitler ordered to kill all the Jews, this law is unfair. The Jews put up strong resistance to this unfair law, and established the Israel finally. We should take the right method to this unfair law. In order to fight against these unfair laws, people should not harm other people’s benefit. For example, a letter to the mayor of the city is a good method to against the unfair law.

The role of law is to protect the benefits of the most citizens in the society. In order to safeguard their own benefits, some people detriment other people’s benefit. Their behavior is not permitted by the law. For example, some people can choose which side of the street to drive on, driving would be dangerous and chaotic. This behavior should be punished by the law. These people have their own convenience, but damage the safety of the others. Nowadays, the law acted by all countries put the benefit of the society as their first aim. However, the law can not protect everyone’s benefit, because the present law is not perfect. With the passage of time, the law will become more perfect, it can safeguard the benefits of all the individual in the society.

To sum up, people should obey the just law and against the unjust law by the moderate approach. People can use the weapon of the law to protect their rights and benefits.
