The speaker contends  that each field can advance significantly only when outsiders bring their konwledge and experience in. In my view, in this era of rapid technological and social change bring on increasing life and  knowledge complexity, no matte in which field, not only inside, but also outside knowledge is need to achieve significant advancement.

First of all, the knowledge and experience of its own field is the foundation for everything. When BMW, one of the best car factories in the world, would like to make his car faster, the company has to acquire more information and knowledge for making its car engine more powerful, lightening its weight of the whole car, shaping its figuration to reduce the windage, which affects a lot when the speed is high. All these things should be considered are relevant to the car knowledge and experience itself. It is absolutely absurd to research in this field but being unconversant with it.

One significant thing should be know when talking about advancement or development, that is the change is a gradual process from a quantitative change to a qualitative change. Before the point arrive, all the tiny change is a kind of accumulation. But when the accumulation is big enough, the whole quality of the thing has changed. Every significant advancement can be taken for a qualitative change while lots of quantitative change should be done.

At the same time, we mustn't overlook the contribution of the knowledge and experience from outside fields. I believe that the inside field is the basement, however, while the outsiders probably are the key.

Since the world is becoming an increasingly complicated place, with each passing day everything is more relevant to every other thing. We can not talk about any field alone. Over specialization means narrow foci in which people can lose the large picture.

In addition, the combination of different field may probably comes into being a new field. My major in colledge is biochemistry, which is come from both biology and chemistry. And this is one of the most popular subject all over the world, and probably will solve a great many of problem in the field of medicine and maybe prolong human's life in some day.

In summary, with other field of study, we can do a better job to make a better world in our own field.

总结一下。我觉得第三段对量变和质变的讨论有一些目的不明确，你应该在这一段强调一下这些论述是为了支持什么观点。另外就是说不应忽视外来知识的那两段，显得有些单薄。另外结尾有些草率，在时间来不及的时候可以这样。如果时间还来得及，还是多写两句多总结一下比较好。
