Does the most significant events and trends in history were made by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten instead of the celebrities? The speaker claims so. However, taking various factors in consideration, significant events in history are determined by the effects of both famous people and normal ones.

First of all, the group of normal people, which took part in the important events and trends in history and always in a large number, played an essential role in the change of history. As far as we know, nearly anything in history which can be recorded and recalled today was made by hundreds and thousands people. Without these normal people, there might be no Civil War in the history of the United States. It is hard to imagine that each reform in history was just elicited by a single leader without a large amount of subordinates and accompanies, even though their identities might have been forgotten and we contemporaries can hardly find their names through the history recordings.

Secondly, even though sometimes we concern famous celebrities in history as brilliant and wonderful when they were performing their role in their time, being famous people might not be their real mind but other normal people's determination. In the very special era in history, the happening of significant events and trends, and to be a leader or not were not depended on one's volition. Sometimes, it is the innumerable normal people's volition that determines one to play an essential role in history. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, who leaded the Civil War, was not insist to emancipate slaves in the South. However, the tendency of reform and people's acclamations pushed him to abolish the discipline of slavery.

What is more, one should not overlook the function of famous people in significant events and trends in history, though normal people are also important factors. A group of single people without a leader are just like a lot of granules of sand, which can not corporate together. In this circumstance, no matter how many people there are, great events and trends might hardly happen. At that time, a leader's function is important. A perfect leader can make a number of people work together and thus, push the forming of significant events. Without Lincoln, slaves in South America might have not been emancipated just depend on the effort of a group of people without a leader. And then, Lincoln is famous of his great achievements.

In sum, even though normal people whose identities have long been forgotten functioned importantly in the most essential events and trends in history, we should not neglect famous people's efforts. Both of them wrote the whole history of human society.

(应该加个people when they were performing their roles in their time, being famous people might not be their real mind but other normal people's determination. What is more(
这里应该用转折吧), one should not overlook the function of famous people in significant events and trends in history, though normal people are also important factors. A group of single people without a leader are just like a lot of granules of sand, which can not corporate together. . And then, Lincoln is famous of his great achievements.

给人的感觉是要写 groups of people neglect famous people's efforts. Both of them wrote the whole history of human society.
