In this issue, the speaker said the education must meet the student's individual needs and interests, and it will be effective. I foundationally agree with this claim. For an effective education, the interest is a important factor. But it is not 【the】only one for the education, and not the most important one. Let me illustrate my standpoint as bellow.
Consider interest is the best teacher for students; I concede that the【the应该去掉吧?】 education will be very effective to cater to the individual's interests and needs. A study reported by National Institution of Education shows: when the same group of pupils remembers the story they like and the boring math formulas, the spending time of former is 30% less than the latter.【值得学习.】. Likewise, other examples have substantiated that the effectiveness of the education of student-oriented is far higher than one 【one改成that?】 of teacher-oriented, because【这里的because是接上句吗,如果是,好像没这个逻辑关系吧,如果是接下句,又和so重复了】 the students will think actively and be absorbed in what they are studying, unlike learning the thing their uninterested【learning without interests?是想这么表达吗,这句话的意思是不是说当学生感到有兴趣时他们会主动思考和有效吸收所学内容?后面unlike 感觉不太好,可以换成正面表达吧】. So, the interest will make the study more effective.
Simply out, if winking at the need and interest of the students, not only will the student study ineffective, but they will 【also】 do something anti-education, escaping【escaping what?】, for example.【和后面is a good example重复到了】 The CEO of famous Microsoft Company, Bill Gates, is a good example. When he studied in Harwood, he found what he was studying was so boring, and could not simulate little interest. So he decided to escape from this best university. Until now, he still rejected to have a lecture in Harvard, for he believe that the school could not provide the profit education 【利润教育吗?个人对the profit education没什么概念,有空还请sringelf给解释下:loveliness: 】for him. And the other same example is Dell, the CEO of the ninth biggest company in the world. No body hopes these conditions will occur again and again.
However, unduly cater to the student's interests will result to【result in or lead to, 我查了下,没有result to 这个搭配】 a greater risk. In my view, other courses the students may be not interested in are more important for them, such as ethnic and moral course. In fact, in many school, these course+s are required course whether they would【would去掉?】 like or not. Yet, it doesn't mean the education is not truly effective due to these courses, and on the contrary, it is the foundation to guarantee education's effectiveness. As the minister of Department saying: If the education neglect the course which students are not interested in but 【is】necessary for their ethnic, the students leaving school will endanger the society, 【有这么肯定这些学生就一定危害社会吗,改成 it may consequently develop a moral problem 怎么样】 which is not our desire.
In short, if the education will be truly effective【这句不通顺吧,based on the purpose of truly effectiveness of education,这样写你看怎样】 , the importance of meeting the individual need and interests of each student is obviously. Yet, only the【considering on the】 interest is inadequate. Before the students study what they are interested in, the 【去掉the】school must teach them the basic moral standard,【把前面逗号去掉加个about?】 what is right and what is wrong, what is allowed and what is forbidden, which can bring the true effectiveness for education.
