一如既往地写的慢~~~~~~~~:(   受范文影响很大...动不动就想搬上去，还有就是自己例子想不出来...
结构和思路是照北美写的...  呃....请大家多多指点

提纲：

1.      一个人的 伟大是否只由后人评价而非同时代，我同意在艺术和科学领域，通常一个人的伟大由后人定义，而在商业领域，一个人的伟大可以由他同时代的人来评定。

2.      首先在艺术领域，历史观察对评判一个人是否伟大起到很大作用。
例子：梵高的事，（太痛苦了，想不出别的）

3.      在科学领域，一个现有科学理论很可能在明天即被推翻，只有通过时间沉淀，后人才能判断一个科学家是否伟大，他的理论是否正确而有贡献。
例子：哥白尼 ，还有巴斯德说“科学家该想到的不是当时人们对他的表扬或辱骂，而是未来若干世纪人们怎么评价他”

4 最后在商业领域，很多人的成就能马上被他同时代的人所认可。
   例子：比尔盖茨和亨利福特。（这里也是想不出别的例子，只能看北美上有这两个例子）

5. 作者结论太极端。在商业领域个人成就 就能被当代人所认可，而在艺术和科学领域则需要历史观察的帮助。

The speaker claims that a person’s greatness can only be recognized by those who live after her/him. I agree with the assertion insofar as people in some special areas such as the arts and science, whose achievement and talent were usually be overlooked in their nascent stages, and later be confirmed and respects as a contribution to the status of historical footnotes. Yet, I disagree with the speaker’s unfair claim that the contemporaries’ opinion should not be involved in the judgment system of greatness. In other areas, particularly the business, a person’s greatness can be judged according to her/his contribution to the society during lifetime.

I would like to turn first to the artistic greatness, which cannot be recognized without the benefit of historical perspectives. As history helps us learn the appropriateness of addressing certain social problems on societal level, historical perspective also provides us a guidance to identify the artistic greatness. For instance, Van Gogh whose paintings have made a new record in selling for $50 million, sold only one of his paintings during his lifetime. He created the impressionism on painting, which was accepted many years after his death.

In considering the sciences, a recent science theory might be reasonable and convincing at first blush. Nevertheless, it can be disproved tomorrow completely. Chasing for the truth of the nature, and also to define the greatness of theorists, a long-term rigorous scientific scrutiny seems necessary to test these theories. Take Copernicus for example, his advanced theory that the earth and other plants revolve around the sun were not recognizable until some scientists who live after him proved his assumptions, then admitted his contribution to polish astronomy. Pasteur, who invented pasteurization, once said and I paraphrase that a scientist should concerns more about the evaluation from people who live after her/him, rather than recognition or abusive from contemporaries. Admittedly, I agree with Pasteur’s opinion, since the significance of theoretical contribution of theorists cannot be recognized only by contemporaries, but also scientists who follow them.

Finally, when it comes to the realm of business, a person’s achievement is recognizable immediately. Microsoft’s Bill Gates make a great efforts on the American economy and the computer world and his greatness have already been recognized. Even Gates’ monopoly may not be recognized, the DOC and windows operating systems will also be a wealth and historical relics and benefit for future generations. However, Gates’ greatness is no doubt secured.
And Henry ford’s assembly-line innovation not only brought profits, but also get the recognition of the modern world. Therefore, a person’s greatness can also be recognized by contemporaries, as Fords’ recognizable greatness and Gates’ beneficial contributions both demonstrate.

To sum up, the speaker’s conclusion is too extreme. There are still many great individuals in the realm of business whose achievements were widely recognized during their lifetime. Yet, other areas, such as the arts and science, historical perspective is of great help and guidance.
