In this statement, the speaker claims that all fields of study could not advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experiment to that field of study. I concede that the development of the study needs not only its own knowledge and experiment, but also outsiders'. However, the speaker's claim is improper in some aspects. I will provide evidence to support may standpoint.

Admittedly, it is no denying that the knowledge and experiment of outsiders is very important to study. They could provide not only another point but also different method of study to people. These points and methods can enlarge people's view, and bring many new ideas to people, and then help people to find some new things. Take chemistry for example. In the history of chemistry, many  significant discoveries owing to using of physical techniques and theories: alkali metals were discovered because batteries were used in chemistry experiments; the discovery of the elements Rb and Cs was attributed to the technique advancement on the realm of optics; the radioactive elements were detected under the direction of radioactivity theory. By contrast, before these physical techniques and theories were used, these elements could not be discovered by the traditional approaches in chemistry. So, the knowledge and experiment of outsiders can be good at the development of the study.

Furthermore, the trend of the development of study is intersection. Only depending on the knowledge and experiment of one area, it is difficult to advance significantly. The finish of a work needs the knowledge and experiment of many areas. It is a trend. For example, when you do a chemistry experiment, it is not enough to only hold the knowledge and experiment of chemistry. At the same time, you will use the knowledge and experiment physics, biology, optics, math and so on. I could do limited thing only using the knowledge and experiment of chemistry. Also, in realm of art, the finish of a film needs the knowledge and experiment of music, painting, behavior, language, history, science, custom and so on. Many factors influence the level of a film. It is the same in many other realms. Intersection is the current trend.

Nevertheless, people who want to succeed must notice the knowledge and experiment of one's major. The knowledge and experiment of major play a vital role in the study. No one can ignore them. And people who fail to take into account the importance of them also could not succeed in his area. The knowledge and experiment of major is the basic of the study. Furthermore, some realms of studying theory may not very need the knowledge and experiment of outsiders, such as academic math and physic. The most important thing to them may be to research in their own area and use their own knowledge and experiment. Because there are few knowledge and experiment of outsiders could help them. So, the knowledge and experiment of major is the basic.

To sum up, the knowledge and experiment of its major and outsiders both are important to people's study. We should combine one with another. We also should be base on the major, and then learn knowledge and experiment of outsiders, and let these knowledge and experiment help the study advance significantly.
