The arguers asserts that they should buy Mesa Foods by the reason that Mesa
Food has strong growth potential. Sound and convincing as the argument seems to
be at first glance, it suffers from a several fallacies when taken into
further consideration.

First of all, as the strategic plan, purchasing Mesa would not as profitable as
Omni Inc expected. The argue equals buying a company with making profits
because sometimes buying anther company would cost the old company a large
amount of money that leads the old company be in debt for years. Then if Omni
does have ability to buy other companies, it would not bring any benefits to Omni
Inc. Thus if the arguer wants to make his statement more acceptable, he need to
do some further research to show the profitable future of Omni Inc, if purchase another
company.


Secondly, the arguer states that" Mesa Foods has strong growth potential"
is doubtable because he does not show any convincing evidence. The increase of
20 percent in profits last year could not imply the large profits it enjoyed
unless the arguer demonstrates the exact number of profits it got the year before. And
also that the sell of the best-product, Diabolique Salsa, has increased for
three years could not represent the rise in all the products of Mesa Foods
and even if the Mesa Foods really has enjoyed a three-year increase in selling,
there is no evidence to prove that this up tendency would keep going on for
the next few years. Thus, the arguer should supply more sufficient information
to cite his argument more convincing.


Finally, even if Mesa Foods would have bright future and Omni Inc are capable
of purchasing Mesa Foods, this argument either could be acceptable. Because the
arguer makes false analogy that he relies on the assumption that the best-sell
in local region typify the same best-sell through the country. As the arguer
reports, Mesa Foods markets its products in a relatively small region
of the country, then the plan of selling Diabolique Salsa nationwide
would be unwarranted unless the arguer provides relevant evidence to explain
the nationwide representative of the Diabolique Salsa's best-sell. In addition, because
Omni is interested in reaching 14-25 years olds, to recommend the argument ,
we need specific information about Mesa Foods such
as Does Diabolique Salsa is popular among people 14-25 year olds? Thus, the argument
should include more detailed information about Mesa Foods.

After pointing out so many obvious flaws in the argument, we can say that the arguer's
report is highly unacceptable. To better value the recommendation, we need more information
about the ability of Omni inc to do the combination. To strength the argument, the
arguer should have to provide sufficient evidence that Mesa Food would continually make
great profits and the sell of Diaboliques Salsa would be as well in small region as in the
country.
