103"The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our
daily lives."

In this issue, the author supposes that the study of history only values on the extent
that it is relevant to our daily lives. It gained by support since nowadays people
study all kind of things to better their lives and learning for the past indeed
serve as that; however, in a fully developed point, I do not agree with the author
because study of the history is not only value in the degree. in which it related to
our daily lives.

To begin with, the study of the history relevant to our daily lives enables people
to better in all sides. To the society, people learning from the history of nations
that no one country could survive and thrive without caring people's the happiness and
freedom. Take China for example, all generations of people were fighting to the emperors
to gain the rights they should have and until a government supplies them fully
freedom and protect the happiness, do they stop fighting. Therefore, with the study
of history, nations learned to straighten up themselves and ameliorate themselves

To the individual, the study of the history especially the history of some
notable figures, people understands how people succeeded and what personalities
should they foster. As the history recorded , successful figures never waste any time.
As what the famous litterateur, Lu Xun said : why I am succeeded is that I use the
time when people drink coffee to write. Examples are numerous to illustrate that
people should learn from the famous people in the history. Therefore, the study of
the history relevant to our daily lives are valuable that we learn ourselves and our world.

Secondly, some history that is defined as not relevant to our daily life is also
worthy to study. History is the record of the past which is unchangeable and unrepeatable.
Due these characteristics of history, people should realize the importance of studying
history because only in this way we know how our ancestors behave and evolve to
the modern people. People in the world are unexhausted to discover the sites of
our ancestors to find where they started their lives and when they began to use fire.
All we do have little relevant to nowadays lives, however we are constantly doing
so because we want to know where and when we begin lives just like a child want to
know where he or she comes from.

In addition, history is just like a part of story that may be meaningless but it
is the history of our own, which can not be repeated and changed. It is like the unique picture
drawing by Picasso, abstracted but aftertasted. Through studying history, people
find they are both trivial and great because they are only a tiny part of the story
but they are writing the story. Thus, the study of the history empowers people
to understand the meaning of life.

To sum up, although the author has the reason to say that "The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our
daily lives ", we should not only emphasis on the part of history, relevant to our
daily life but also study the whole history to understand our ancestors, ourselves
and our world as well as the meaning of life because history is the treasure of the past left for us to trace.
