The arguer concluded that Green Thumb Gardening Center(GTGC) can increase profits by expanding various vegetable seeds, for there's evidence that growing vegetables is becoming more and more popular among consumers. But the arguing with evidences is weak, and the evidences lack persuasion too.

Firstly, evidence is shown that consumers' dissatisfaction of the supermarkets vegetable is growing bigger, conducted by a national survey. Well that's maybe the world trend, but it still cannot be confirmed that the consumers of GTGC who live in a suburban town have gain the same disagreement. Perhaps, on the contrary, they're pretty satisfied with the serving of GTGC. And a small town is just too insignificant that whether they're different from the dissatisfied ones or not doesn't influence the result of a national survey at all. Thus the National survey becomes useless in this argument.

Secondly, if the residents do have some complaints about the vegetables, it doesn't necessarily mean that they'll turn to grow flesh ones on their own. Planting costs lots of time and extra money, a person who tends to pick up cleaned up vegetables from the market are most likely from salaried state so he doesn't seem to have the patience to do these stuffs which are kind of annoying. What he most probably will do is switching to another supermarket or grocer or simply doing nothing but accept the vegetables that are not satisfying.

Further more, it still cannot be concluded that Great Gardens (GG) has sold out at the stand because that people are getting interested in growing vegetables. There're many reasons for a person to buy such a magazine like GG. Maybe he does interest in planting but what he favors lies in flowers and bushes rather than floppy vegetables, or he prefer to just read than do it himself(like many other people who enjoy comics but never think of drawing an issue himself). Before taking a poll including details of reasons buying GG, any conclusion maybe regarded lacking credibility.

And if the residents do enjoy growing their own vegetables, do the profits really can be increased by expanding variety of vegetables? It is not known which kinds of vegetables seeds are among the favorite, perhaps there are few that could be picked up by the consumers, judging from the vitality and fecundity. Therefore expanding blindly without investigation of demotic tastes could bring out a deficit.

In sum, the evidences of popular vegetables growing and suggestion on expanding various kinds of seeds to profit lack details, which make the argument unsound. To strength the claim the author must provide more specialized surveys focusing the town which GTGC serves with exact statistics.

Perhaps, on the contrary, they're pretty satisfied with the serving of GTGC(这个地方应该是对超市的蔬菜更满意吧,而不是对种子公司更满意). And a small town is just too insignificant that whether they're different from the dissatisfied ones or not doesn't influence the result of a national survey at all.
