  If a goal is worthy, should we use any means to obtain it? However, what is the meaning of "worthy"? This word depends too much upon on the moral and ethic standards as well as is too subjective. And we should also consider the consequence of the means to obtain the goal. On balance, I think that the speaker's assertion that any means to obtain the goal is justifiable is unjust.
  Admittedly, to fulfill a goal we all need to make some endeavors without which we can hardly reach any goals. Working for promotion, for instance, need to make some endeavors. A worker who wants to get a career promotion need not only hard working, never being late for work, communicating with other employee a lot, and help the boss to finish the task perfectly but also need some other means to accomplish the promoting goal which is worthy for him by means of expressing his talent in the leadership of other coworkers, the ability to help the superintendent to promote the productivity and so on. All these means to reach the goal is justifiable.     
  However, if we make endeavors in some other are by certain unjustifiable means, the speaker’s assertion is whatever uneven. Let's first turn our point to the commerce world. Few will argue that profits are the most consequential factor in the business world. However, if a company just focus its attention on the short-term mundane goals: deadline for production, sales quotas, profit margins, and so forth. All these goals is maybe worthy through the eyes of the company's chief executive. If the company adopt any means to make the profit maximization by extending the workers work hours, tax evasion from the government, carelessness the pollution of the environment and so on so forth which will harm not only the people serving for it but also the federal budget and the residents living in the community. Should we think by all the means to obtain the profit in the business world is justifiable?
  Secondly, we should focus our eyes on the education. Making a high average score in the school is a worthy goal for all the students with no doubt. However, many students cut corners to get the goal such as plagiarism in the exam, or to beg the professor to let him or her go when they in the risk of failing, and so forth. All these means pale in the importance compared to the real meaning of the education. Can we think that all the means are justifiable when the students get the high score by some unjustifiable means?
  Moreover, the political field also exists the problem. Many politicians make some goal too subjective which will cause some catastrophic consequences. Taking the Reagan Administration for instance, they used any means to administer the strategic Defense Iniative in the 1980s with the goal to protect the national security. No one would doubt the worth of the goal. However, after the goal debacle, the goal left nothing but rampant gang violence, AIDS epidemic and a federal budget deficit.
  However, if the goal of profit maximization under not only the concerning about the workers, the community people and the government budget but also the moral and ethic standards, then we can take many means to reach the goal. Also students can get the goal of a high average academic score by the mean of working harder, more communication with the professors and so on. And the most important of a policeman is that they should weigh the worth of a goal more subjective and more concerning on the moral and ethic standards which link the national security, political sovereignty, the economy stability and so on.
  In sum, to reach a goal, we should think more subjective to its worth, and by the means to obtain it, we should put more consideration about the consequence of it. Thus, we can reach a more meaningful and effective goal.
