17"There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."
限时
When asked about whether laws are just or unjust, people may find it hard to come to consensus due to their different experience and position. From my perspective, I think laws are important but it is hard to tell just laws and unjust laws. Moreover, if we think that there are unjust laws, we should change them through legal process.
Firstly, no one can deny that laws are play a important joy in today's society. The laws are the fundamental of society and if we do not obey them, the society will be unsafely. With the development of technology, there are more and more measures to crime such as High-IQ crime, the appear of Hacker and so on. So in today's society, the importance of laws is more clearly. For example, "Law is order , and good law is good order." which is said by Aristotle, Ancient Greek philosopher. From this, for the affect of laws, we should take laws seriously.
Secondly, it is hard to tell just laws and unjust laws because each person has different understanding and view. On the one hand, to the employers, they may think that the laws which protect their profits are just. On the other hand, to the employee, they may think that the employers should not make so much money and this money is earned by employee in fact. So they may think the laws that protect employers' profits are unjust. "No society can make a perpetual constitution, or even a perpetual law." which is said by Thomas Jefferson, America president. We know that the society is developed quickly; consequently it is hard to tell the laws which are just or unjust.
Thirdly, what's more, if we think some laws are "unjust laws", we should not disobey and resist, we can take this measure that changing them through legal process. For instance, Martin Luther King protects the black's profits by some legal ways and he provides a candle along with a light. On December 10, 1964, Dr. King received the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway. So we should know that if we disobey and resist "unjust laws", we may bring in Beatings, imprisonment and sometimes death. If we take legal process, we can reach our goals safely and legal.
To sum up, due to the aforementioned reasons, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become more persuasive than any single of them, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that it is hard to tell just laws and unjust laws and we can take some legal measures to change the unjust laws. |
