TOPIC: ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

Human are social animals. One cannot live without others. Robinson Crusoe written by Daniel Defoe showed this statement completely. In the lonely island, what Robinson suffered is not only lack of food, but also the solitude in his heart. That is to say, all people connect with each other to form an integrated society; the way how people are socialized is quite important.

As the knowledge is accumulating, there is not any scholar who can do well in all the fields like Aristotle -- the former philosophy, physician, biologist, etc. because human's brain is limited to fill with so much knowledge. The result is human have more affinity relationship with each other. The socialization of people became more important which can assert as determination of social’s destiny.

No one can live forever; we must pass down our knowledge and experiences to our children. As socialization determined the destiny of society, children's educate of it become much important.

However, different nation have difference ways to raise their children to socialize. Semai tribesmen of central Malay Peninsula of Malaysia typically are gentle people who do not like violent, aggressive individuals; on the other side of the earth, Yanomamo Indians of the border and between Venezuda and Brazil usually train their boys to be tough and even aggressive. Chinese parents told their children to be quiet and modest; as be active and confidentially which American parents taught their children. We have different ways to form our children to socialize.

There are no good results and bad ones among that different ways. The nation’s existence proved their socialization results as the theory of Darwin. The gentle people--Semai would live a peaceful life and the Yanomamo may take many advantages in the war time. Chinese's modest attitude made them more careful in their own progressing and American's confidence would bring them more opportunity in the job market.

However, we must choose a best way based on our own situation to raise our children being socialized. Indeed, ways to raise children are various, but that various ways must be appropriate. If it went wrong in one nation, they would pay more prices to compensate. Take Chinese Culture Revolution for example, people including children are told to reveal others counter-revolutionary things, which is not actually counter-revolution but some tiny capitalism background such as somebody’s father is a capitalist and he would be called the son of capitalist who must accept people’s punishment(die in the end) unless he make a clean break with his father. The result is people never believed each other even their father, mother, husband or wife. In this scary relationship for ten years, China’s society began to disintegration, not to mention development. Accompany with this disintegration, Chinese people lost most of their culture, the golden opportunity to become strong in the world, and their etiquette and honesty inherited from their ancestors.

From what are said above, we know that socialized today determines the destiny of society and we must choose a best way to socialize our children based on our own culture,
