9月3agree/disagree:university students should be required to take basic science classes even they are not part of the field of the study. 2007年7月7日教育类
我在这里理解的SCIENCE是普通科学或是学科,不是理科.感觉举例好象不够强大,好象没有紧扣题,希望看帖子的T友可以留下你的感受,我们一起进步吧! 加油!
I agree that the students in universities should take basic science classes even if they do not in those majors, because many subjects and knowledge share the similar principles, or the same origin. Without the basic culture from other science, it is hard for those students to master what is the field of the study.
In the first place, the basic of other science knowledge can make students understand their majors better, for the reason of that is no subject can be totally independent. Architectonics as an example, students who are in this major should learn history, art, esthetics, and religion besides the classes concerning architect. Otherwise, the buildings will lose their meanings. The modern world is not like the one in ancient times, and the apartments should not be as a box simply for residents to live. They may have specific shapes and purposes. Such as, the Bird’s Net and the Water Cube in Beijing Olympic Game, they are not only the stadiums, but also became the significant signs in China. That is the essence of architectures, because both buildings are come together with esthetics, art, architectonics and the theme of the Olympics, one world one dream. Bird’s Net is like home, and both audiences and athletes are living in one net to express the pigeons that stand for peace.
In the second place, some of the meaningful ancient architectures are still attractive. The Paris Mary Church with a strong Christian religion has accepted people having weddings there. That is one of its architect’s achievements, even if he was not a believer, but the architect must know the knowledge about Christianity and painting. Without those, the Mary Church would be lost.
In conclusion, other basic knowledge will make the students fulfill what they study better, as other subjects can offer the concerning information and culture in their works, which cannot be replaced by just single major. |
