Movies and televisions have more positive or negative effects on young people’s behaviors. (2007.4.21,技术进步类)

With the ever-increasing popularity of video entertainment, moveis and televisions do really effects the whole society nowadays.In my opionion,movies and television influence our behaviors, both in pros and cons, as the following reasons.

Firstly,televisions and films give us an opportunity to experience the boundless universe.Indeed its vivid images and sounds it produces succeed in the education of people, who are much more inclined to accept visual information than abstract letters and characters. Television also raises our interests by providing a great deal of latest news and events, extending our horizon by such documentary programs as “National Geographic” and “Discovery”, whose contents might otherwise be unapproachable in an entire lifetime.

Secondly, another influence on our behavior is that movies and television reduce stress. Watching films, we can escape our own problems for a little while. This is especially apparent during times of trouble. At such tims, people seem to prefer happy ,even silly movies or programs that let them forget their problems. Also, sometimes movies show positive ways to resolve problems we all face. While TV and movies shouldn’t be a way to hide from life, they can help us cope.

Nevertheless, watching movies and television could also do harm for us to some extent. Before the invention of movies and televisions, people spent their lesisure time on more active and social pursuits. They often held dancing parties, play music insturctments together or went out for hiking. But now television is widely available and it offers a variety of program choice almost cover every insterests. People no longer have to look to others for entertainments. What's more, always withe two or three TV sets in the house, family members prefer to watch their favorate programs alone. There is no time for them to communicate with each other.

In brief, movies and television, by offering information and effects the ways we live, have a strong influence on our world and society.However, to be frank, the positive or negative effects they make depends on what type programs you watch,  how you respond to what you watch and how much you watch.
