Colleges and universities are usually equipped with advanced apparatus in laboratories and have eminent professors. Therefore, whether such valuable but limited education resources should be available to all students or only to preeminent students becomes a hot issue discussed by public. In my perspective, considering objectives of higher education I advocate that only qualified students have the opportunity to study in universities.

Firstly, the function of higher education including colleges and universities is different from that of compulsory education. Basic education aims to propagate knowledge involving reading, writing and living skills which are essential to all people; while universities are planned to cultivate students to make researches. Elite students can make full use of these advanced resources and figures out the most challenging problems. Furthermore, professors can teach these qualified students efficiently for their better understanding of complicated theories. What is the most important, if universities want to receive more students and still keep their excellent education level, more supervisors and equipment are needed; nevertheless it is unnecessary and impossible for government and society to allocate such redundant human resources and money on higher education. Thus, it is acceptable to lay priority on those eminent students to be admitted to universities for further studies and researches.

When it comes to individual, they are faced with the problem whether it is worthy for each person to take higher stage of education at the expense of money, energy and so on. I concede that denizens are entitled equal right to obtained education, yet it is based on ability of students to learn. Because of complexity of knowledge, students without strong background will probably gain little or even nothing, despite of great effort they made. In this manner, those students may feel frustrated for what they plunge into comes out no reword. Actually in most cases, well-paid occupations do not require high education background but distinctive specific skills. For instance, adept skills play a crucial part in negotiation between enterprises. In this circumstance, a market manager with skilled communication will get more advantages. So it makes no sense for this manager to excel in academic of economy.

As a final analysis, limited education resources, personality and specific requirement of society convince me to make the recommendation that admission of higher education are only available to qualified students.
