理由：
1.保护动物是因为它们适应新环境的能力差。
2.保护动物是因为一个动物物种的灭绝会破坏一个地区的生态平衡。
3.保护动物是因为它们对人类有研究价值。

The earth has changed dramatically by human activities. Human being use land for a variety of needs for farmland, housing and industry. When it comes to determine the land use, some people think that human need outweighs animals need. While, I hold the opinion that human have an obligation to protect the land where endangered animals inhabit.

On one hand, one of the reasons to conserve land for animals need is that the ability to adaption of animals is slow. The most majority of endangered animals can only live in one place where they get used to, or in a specific type of place. On the contrary, humans have the capacity of accommodating quicking to the changing and severe environment. If the land, which they are hind on, are violated by humans, endangered animals will be in extinction. Northeastern tigers in China, for example, were used to live in forest of the north. A couple of decades ago, the land for northeastern tigers increasingly declinded because of the behaviour of clear-cutting. Accordingly, the number of tiger became descended. In order to conserve them, government construct a natural preservation zone. Therefore, humans should make best use of all available lands rather than use the habitat of endangered animals.

On the other hand, one of the most important causes for protect endangered animals is that the subtle ecological balance of a region might be irreversibly harmed by their extinction. According to the theory of food chain in the study of biology, one sort of animals or species will destroy the balance of ecosystem in an area. Polar bear, for instance, is the largest animal living in the Arctic. Due to the polar ice cap keeps melting, the habitat of polar bear is decreasing. A survey showed that the number of polar bear has been declined annually. In the Arctic, Polar bear is the biggest carnivore. Once if it is unfortunate that polar bear was in extinction, the ecological balance of the Arctic would be violated severely. To some extent, humans would be harmed directly or indirectly.

Evenually, humans have much to learn from endangered animals. The research on them makes contribution to the field of medicine. By observing a special species of endangered chimpanzees in rain forest of South Asia, scientists found that chimpanzees eat a certain kind of plant when they are ill. Throughout the research on this plant, scientists discovered that it has the medical value for humans as well. Thereby, it can be said that some endangered animals can teach humans something uncovered.
